• The foundation of democracy in the country was
  sidelined upon the declaration of Martial Law
  by President Ferdinand Marcos putting the
  whole country under the control of the military.
• Mass media control was established; countless
  journalists, editors, and protesters were arrested.
• The Constitution was remodeled and for a brief
  period of time, the country experienced a strict
  disciplinarian state that controlled the economy,
  legislation, and the media.

 o EDSA People Power Revolution
   began.
 o Speculated Ninoy Aquino was
   assassinated due to his mass
   influence

                     Reinstation of the Constituition
       •   reinstated democracy due to the success of the EDSA
             People Power Revolution that toppled the Marcos
                                dictatorship.
       •    The rights mandated in a democratic society such as
