This chapter in order to prepare you, future English language and
literature teachers, for the real world of teaching and assessment of
prose;
Rusted red in a field it lies, The seats inside are worn with age,
A forgotten car beneath the skies. A history of journeys once engaged.
Its tires flat, its paint now fades, The steering wheel now weak and frayed,
The passage of time its only trade. A relic of a time long decayed.
Once it roared with engines strong, But still, it sits with grace and pride,
A king of the road, a hero long gone. A symbol of a past that cannot hide.
Its metal now creaks with every gust, And in its rust and peeling paint,
A memory of speed and adventure lost. A beauty that will never faint.
