You are my God and fortress

Our father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name,

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in
Heaven: give us this day our daily bread

እኩይ፣ እስመ ዚአከ፣ ይእቲ kwilu ikuy, isme zīake yi’itī
መንግሥት፣ ኃይል ወስብሐት፣ mengist; hayli we-sib’hat; le-
ለዓለመ ዓለም። Alem Alem
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive them
that trespass against us, and lead us not into
temptation but deliver us and rescue us from all evil
for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory

ምንተኑ አዐሥየኪ ዕሴተ በእንተ

ኩሉ ዘገበርኪ ሊተ ማርያም
Mariyam senayt ze-tafeqirī
ሠናይት ዘታፈቅሪ ምሕረተ mihrete sobese titAqebī ze-
ሶበሰ ትትዓቀቢ ዘዚአየ ኃጢአተ zī’aye haTīate im-īhayoku
እምኢሐዮኩ አሐተ ሰዓተ። ahate seAte

ኦ ምሕረት እትፈትዊ ማርያም What shall I render you for

ውቅብቲ፡ ንስኺ ሓጢኣተይ all things you have done
እንተትሕዝለይ ሓንቲ ሰዓት’ውን for me? Mary the good
ተኾነት ክጸንሕ ኣይምኸኣልኩን’ሞ፡ lover of Mercy, If you did
ስለዚ ኩሉ ትገብርለይ’ሲ እንታይ not keep my sins, I would
ዋጋ ኢየ ክኸፍለኪ። not be around for one hour

መቅድመ ተአምረ ማርያም be-selame Gebriel melak o Igzī’tiye
በሰላመ ገብርኤል መልአክ ኦ እግዚእትየ Mariyam; selam ilekī dingil be-
ማርያም፡ ሰላም እለኪ ፡ድንግል በሕሊናኪ hilīnakī we-dingil be-sigakī; ime
ወድንግል በስጋኪ፡ እመ እግዚኣብሔር Igzīabhier tseba’ot selam lekī; burikt
ጸባዖት ሰላም ለኪ፡ ቡርክት አንቲ እም
አንስት ወብሩክ ፍሬ ከርስኪ ተፈሥሒ antī im-anist we-biruk firie kersikī
ፍሥሕት ኦ ምልዕተ ጸጋ እግዚአብሔር tefesihī fish’t o milite tsega

ኣቲ ንግስተይ ማርያም ብናይ ቅዱስ Before the Miracles of Mary
ገብርኤል መልኣኽ ሰላምታ ሰላም እብለኪ In the greeting of Gabriel the angel, Oh
ኣለኹ፡ ብሕልና ድንግል ብስጋ ድንግል ኢኺ፡ my lady Mary, peace be [salutation]
ኣደ እግዚአብሔር ጸባዖት ሰላምታ ንዓኺ፡ unto you virgin in thought and virgin in
ንስኺ ካብ ኣንስቲ ዝተባረኽኪ ናይ ከርስኺ body, mother of God, Lord of Hosts,
ፍረ ውን ዝተባረኸ እዩ፡ እግዚአብሔር peace be unto you; blessed are you
ምሳኺ ዝኾነ ጸጋ ዝተመላእኪ ተሓጎሲ ደስ among women and blessed is the fruit
ይበልኪ። of your womb, rejoice Oh joyful one full
of grace, God is with you

መዋዕል ሕፃን። ኦ ማርያም ተስፋ

ለቅቡፃን። በጊዜ ጸሎት ወዕጣነ
qidus qurban; le-nazizotine ni’ī
ወበጊዜ ቅዱስ ቁርባን። ለናዝዞትነ

ንዒ ኅበዝ መካን።

ናዛዚትና ካብ ሓዘን፡ ሓይሊ ጎብዝናና ካብ You are our counselor in
ርስዓን፡ ኣብ ማኅፀንኪ ተፀውረ
times of mourning, our
ዘለዓለማዊ ሕጻን፡ ኦ ማርያም ተስፋ ናይ
ቅቡጻን፡ ብጊዜ ጸሎት ወዕጣን ኣብ ጊዜ strength when we are weak
ንጹሕ ቁርባንን ከተጸናንዕና ንዒ ናባዛ [and weary], for you were
ዘሎናያ መካን (ቦታ)። able to bare the alpha and
Omega in your womb.
ድሕረ ንበተ ተአምረ ማርያም dihre nibete te’amire Mariyam
ወላዲተ አምላክ ማርያም እንበለ weladīte Amlak Mariyam inbele
ሰብሳብ ወሩካቤ። በይነ ዘአቅረብኩ ለኪ sebsab we-rukabie; beyne ze-
ንስቲተ ቃለ ይባቤ። ፈትቲ እሙ በረከተ aqrebku lekī nistīte qale yibabie;
አፉኪ መዓዛ ከርቤ። ለነዳይ ብእሲ fetitī imu berekete afukī meAze
ወለዘረከቦ ምንዳቤ። ኅብስተከ ፈትት kerbie; le-neday bi’isī weleze-
ኢሳይያስ ይቤ።፡ rekebo mindabie; hibisteke fetit

ብዘይ መርዓን ተራኽቦትን ኣደ
ኣምላኽ ዝኾንኪ ማርያም፡ ስለዛ O Mary, who became the
ዘቕርበልኪ ንእሽተይ ቃል ምስጋና፡ Mother of God without a man’s
ከምቲ ንነዳይን ዝተሽገረን ሰብ seed or intercourse, accept
፥ኢሳይያስ ሕብስትኻ ቁረስ ዝበሎ፡ ኦ my few offerings of praise [that
ኣደ ኣምላኽ ንዓይ’ውን እቲ ምኡዝ
ዕጣን ናይ ኣፍኪ በረኸት ቁረስለይ።

ስብሐት ለኪ ማርያም በኁልቆ ኩሉ sib’hat lekī Mariyam be-hulqo
ኩሉ ሥዕርትየ፡ ስብሐት ለኪ ማርያም kulu kulu si’irtiye; sib’hat lekī
በኁልቆ ኩሉ አዕጽምትየ። ስብሐት ለኪ Mariyam be-hulqo kulu
ማርያም በኁልቆ ኩሉ ዘተርእየ። a’itsimtiye; sibhat lekī Mariyam
ስብሐት ለኪ ንግስትየ በኁልቆ ኩሉ be-hulqo kulu ze-teriye; sib’hat
ዘኢያስተርአየ። ስብሐተ ድንግልናኪ lekī nigistīye be-hulqo kulu ze-
ዘልፈ ይነግር ኣፋየ። īyasteraye; sib’hate dingilinakī
zelfe yinegir afuye;

ኦ ማርያም ከም ብዝሒ ቁጽሪ ጸጉሪ
ርእሰይ የመስግነኪ። ኦ ማርያም ከም Praise to you O Mary with all
ብዝሒ ቁጽሪ ኣዕጽምተይ የመስግነኪ። ኦnumbers of my hair; Praise to you O
ማርያም ብኹሉ ዝቁጸር ዝተሪእየ Mary with all numbers of my bones;
የመስግነኪ። ኦ ንግስቲ ብኹሉ። ዝቁጸር Praise to you O Mary with all
ዘይተራእየ የመስግነኪ። ንድንግልናኺ counting seen things, Praise to you o
ኩሉ ግዜ ኣፈይ ምስጋናኺ ይዛረብ።። Queen with all counting hidden
things; Praise to your Virginity that
my mouth speaks everyday

ለዘይጼውዖ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ኅብስተhibiste hywet leze-yiblio Īyesus
ሕይወት ለዘይበልዖ፡ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ Kristos tsiwa Medhanīt leze-
ጽዋዕ መድኃኒት ለዘይጸምኦ፡ ከመ yitsemo; keme yibarikune
ይባርኩነ ይፈኑ አርዳኦ፡ ለጸባኢነ yifenu arda’o; le-tseba’īne
ይጽብኦ ወልታሁ ነሢኦ። yitsibi’o weltahu nesī’o
ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ጥዑም ስምዩ Before the Miracles of Jesus
ንዝጽውዖ፣ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ Jesus Christ; A pleasing name to
ሕብስተ ሕይወት’ዩ ንዝበልዖ፣ call. Jesus Christ Who is the
ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ መስተ bread of life to those Who
መድኃኒት’ዩ ንዝጸምኦ፣ ንኽባርኹና partake of His flesh. Jesus
Christ the drink of salvation for
ይፈንወልና ኣርዳኦ(ሓዋርያቱ)፣
those in thirst. He sends His
ዋልታኡ ኣልዒሉ ንዝጻብኣና
disciples to bless us; Raises His
ይጻብኦ። shield to fight our enemy
 መቅድመ ተአምር ኢየሱስ meq’dim te’amir Īyesus
ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ዘአጽእልቲሁ Īyesus Kristos ze-atsiltīhu
ምስሌሁ፡ መስቀለ ሞቱ ቅድሜሁ፡ misliehu; mesqele motu
ዐዘቅተ ወይን ገቦሁ፡ ቊርባነ qidmiehu; azeq’te weyn
አምልኮ ሥጋሁ፡ ያብአነ ቤተ gebohu; qurbane Amlako
መርዓሁ ውስተ ደብተራሁ፡ አመ sigahu; yabi’ane biete
ይትጋብኡ ለምሳሕ ሥርግዋን merAhu wiste debterahu ame
ሐራሁ። yit’gabi’u le-misah sirgiwan

ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ስምብራቱ ኩሉ Before the Miracles of Jesus
ምስኡ፣ መስቀል ሞቱ ቅድሚኡ፣ Jesus Christ with His piercings on
ዒላ ወይኒ ኢዩ ገቦኡ፣ ቊርባን Him; the death of the cross before
ኣምልኾ ሥጋኡ፣ የእትወና ናብ Him, the well of grapes is His side;
the communion of worship is His
ኣዳራሽ መርዓኡ፣ ስሉማት Flesh; May He bring us to the hall
ኣገልገልቱ ንምሳሕ ምስ of His wedding, when His anointed
ተጋብኡ። servants have gathered for supper

መቅድመ ተአምር ኢየሱስ le-Tib’ha sigake nisiesiyo; wele-
ለጥብሐ ሥጋከ ንሴስዮ፡ ወለነቅዐ neqa demike nirewiyo Īyesus
ደምከ ንረውዮ፡ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ Kristos begi ze-qeraniyo le-
በግዕ ዘቀራንዮ፡ ለላህይከ ንትሜነይ lahyike nitmieniy keme nirayo
ከመ ንርአዮ፡ ውስተ ስያሐ ሱራፈ wiste siyah surafī le-si’iletine
ለስእለትነ ደዮ፡ ወበሕማመ ሞትከ deyo; webe-himame motike
አምላካዊ ለቍስልነ አጥዕዮ። Amlakawī le-qusline aTiyo

Before the Miracles of Jesus

ንጥብሓት ሥጋኻ ንሰስዮ፣ We are nourished by the wounds of
ንዝውሕዝ ደምካ ንሰትዮ፣ ኢየሱስ Your flesh and we are quenched by the
ክርስቶስ በጊዕ ናይ ቀራንዮ፣ pouring of Your blood. Jesus Christ the
lamb of Calvary. We long to see Your
ንውቃብ ገጽካ ንምነ ንኽንርእዮ፣ (grace) beauty. Place our supplications
ንልማኖና ናብ ምስጋና ሱራፈ to be mixed with praise of the Seraph.
ወደዮ፣ ብሕማም ሞትካ ኣምላኻዊ And with the divine sufferings of Your
ንቊስልና ኣጥዕዮ። death, heal our wounds.

መቅድመ ተአምር ኢየሱስ le-Tib’ha sigake nitsegibo
ለጥብሐ ሥጋከ ንጸግቦ፡ ወለነቅዐ wele-neqa demike niserbo
ደምከ ንሰርቦ፡ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በግዕ Īyesus Kristos begi riguz
ርጉዝ ገቦ፡ አይሁዳዊ ከሐዲ አሚነ gebo; ayhudawī kehadī amīne
ሥላሴ ዘአልቦ፡ ኢተወልደ እማርያም Silasie ze-albo; ītewelde
ዘይቤለከ እመቦ፡ እህጉራተ ዓለም iMaryam ze-yibeleke imebo;
ለይዑድ ከመ ከልብ ርኂቦ። ih’gurate Alem le-yi’ud keme
kelbi rihībo;
Before the Miracles of Jesus
ንጥብሓት ሥጋኻ ንሰግቦ፣ With the cutting of Your Flesh we
are content, the source of Your
ንምንጪ ደምካ ንሠርቦ (ንሰትዮ)፣ blood we drink, Jesus Christ the
ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በጊዕ ርጉዝ ገቦ፣ lamb pierced in His side. Jewish
ኣይሁዳዊ ከሓዲ እምነተ-ሥላሴ who lack the faith of the Trinity;
ዘኣልቦ፣ ካብ ማርያም ኣይተወልደን that say You are not born from
ዝብለካ እንተሎ ኣህጉራት Mary; Let Him go around countries
of the world as a hungered dog.

ድኅረ ተአምር ኢየሱስ
አመ ትመጽእ ለኮንኖ ምስለ ደመ ገቦ ame timetsi le-konino misle
ወአእጋር፣ አማኅጸንኩ ነፍስየ ውስተ deme gebo we-a’igar;
amah’tsenku nefsiye wiste idieke
እዴከ ክቡር ኢየሱስ፣ ክርስቶስ
kibur Īyesus Kristos Igzīo
እግዚአ ሰማያት ወምድር። semayat we-midr; yitwaqesu be-
ይትዋቀሡ፣ በእንቲአየ ተኰርዖትከ intī’aye tekorotike be-betri we-
በበትር ወተሰይጦትከ ከመ ገብር teseyTot’ke keme gebri le-hidaT
ለኅዳጥ ብሩር። birur;
After the Miracles of Jesus
ንፍርዲ ክትመጽእ ከሎኻ ምስ ደም When you come down for
ገቦ ወኣእጋር፣ ነፍሰይ ኣማሕጺነ judgement with the blood on
your sides and feet. I have placed
ኣሎኹ ናብ ኢድካ ክቡር፣ ኢየሱስ my soul in your glorified hands.
ክርስቶስ ጐይታ ሰማያት ወምድር፣ Jesus Christ Lord of the Heavens
ምእንታይ ይባኣሱ ምቕጥቃጥካ and Earth; For my sake they
ብበትር፣ ምሻጥካውን ከም ባርያ fought to scourge you with a
ንቊሩብ ብሩር። whip; and Your being sold as a
slave for a few coins of silver.
 ድኅረ ተአምር ኢየሱስ dihrī te’amir Īyesus
sib’hat leke Amlakīye be-hulqie
ስብሐት ለከ አምላኪየ በኊልቈ ሰብእ sebi we-mela’ikt; se; le; Am be-
ወመላእክት፥ስ.ለ.አ በኊልቈ ፅዱላን hulqie tsidulan kewakibt; se; le;
ከዋክብት፥፥ስ.ለ.አ በኊልቈ ኲሎን ዓለማት aM; be-hulqie kwilon Alemat
ስብሐት ለከ ንጉሥየ በኊልቈ ዕለታት sib’hat leke nigusiye be-hulqie
ወአዝማናት፥፥ስብሐት ይደሉ ለመሰቀልከ iletat we-azmanat; sib’hat yidelu
ሕይወት፥እስመ በመስቀልከ ድኅነ ኲሉ le-mesqelike hywet; isme
ፍጥረት። mesqelike dihine kwilu fiTret;
ኦ ኣምላኸይ ምስጋና ንዓኻ ከም ብዝሒ ቁጽሪ After Miracles of Jesus
ሰብን መላእኽትን። ኦ ኣምላኸይ ምስጋና ንዓኻ Glory be to you my God by all people
ከም ብዝሒ ቁጽሪ እቶም ብሩሃት ከዋኽብቲ።ኦ and angels. Glory be to you my God
ኣምላኸይ ምስጋና ንዓኻ ከም ብዝሒ ቁጽሪ by all the bright stars; Glory be to you
ዓለማት። ኦ ጎይታይ ምስጋና ንዓኻ ከም ብዝሒ my God by all the worlds; Glory be to
ዕለታትን ዘመናትን። ነቲ መስቀልካ ሕይወት you my king by all the days and

በቀል ወፍዳ፡ ወአመ

ኢታድኅን እም ዘወለደት
ወልዳ፡ ባልሕኒ እሞተ ዕዳ፡ ītad’hin im ze-weledet
ሰላም ለኪ። welda; balhinī imote

ናይ ፍርድን መቕጻዕትን
ዕለት ኣብ ዝኾነሉ እዋን
ከምኡ’ውን ኣደ ንወዳ ኣብ

ነዓኺ።

በከመ ልማድኪ በሊ ኀበ ወልድኪ be-keme limadikī belī
ከሃሊ፡ ኦ ርኅሩኅ ኢተበቃሊ፡ habe weldikī kehalī; o
ያጠፍኦኑ ለሥዕሉ ሰዓሊ፡ ኪነተከ rihruh ītebeqalī; yaTefonu

ከም ልማድኪ ኦ ርህሩህን
