• Also called Sansodhana (Bio- purification)
• Pancha means Five. Karma means Therapy/
procedure/ actions.
• Sansodhana- Elimination of toxins through
natural/nearest routes.
• Natural routes/ nearest route- upper body- mouth,
middle body- through anus, head- through nose.

PANCHAKARMA AS PREVENTIVE –
Panchakarma/ Sansodhan restore the state of homeostasis, can be
indicated as prophylactic measures in the context of epidemics and
pandemics.
PANCHAKARMA AS PROMOTIVE –
It cleanses the body channels, provides clarity of intellect and sense
organs, stability of body tissues, increase in digestive power, this leads
to delay process of ageing.
PANCHAKARMA AS CURATIVE–
Improper / disturbed metabolism is the root cause of all disease. For
correction of this, panchakarma is the best treatment.

UDVARTANA- Ayurvedic powder massage that includes
scrubbing of the whole body using the ubtan (paste) made
out of the mixture of the different herbs and grains which
contain the property of scrapping the fat. Therefore it is best
done in conditions of obesity and cellulite beneath the skin.

Trivrt ( Operculina turpethum)- Has anthraquinone.
Unabsorbed in the small intestine, they are passed to the
colon where bacteria liberates the active form, which either
acts locally or is absorbed into circulation and gets excreted in
bile to act on small intestine. The active principle is believed
to work on myenteric plexus to increase peristalsis and
decrease segmentation.
