VoLTE: Enhancing 4G Voice Services

What about data service throughput during calling?
 It still connected to LTE PS and the 100+Mbps throughput.

Do waiting for handset ringing at the called side bother you?
 Not any more, relying on older network generation for call setup will take about 5sec but with VoLTE
about 1sec.

Is the call quality a consideration?


 The VoLTE can provide the HD call quality.
How to get benefit from VoLTE?
4G coverage should be mature (have wide coverage).
Voice usage in targeted areas should be high weighted in the network.
UE supporting VoLTE inside 4G covered areas should have good weight.
Suggestion and Recommendations
SRVCC (Single Radio Voice Call Continuity) should be supported in the network to
handover the call to other earlier generation network when moving out of 4G areas otherwise
the call dropped.

Low frequency bands (800 MHz or 900 MHz bands) should be applied in the network
because the lower frequency bands used the better penetration got and that yields to better
indoor coverage and lower chances to drop call when moving from outdoor to indoor and
away from windows in indoor situation and less handover signaling.
