The word “gospel” means “good news,” just like the Greek
word “evangelion.” For us, the gospel or good news
is the message of Jesus Christ. We use the same word
“Gospel” to refer to a written account of the teachings
and deeds of Jesus. We use “Gospels” to refer to
the four accounts written by Matthew, Mark, Luke,
and John, contained in our Holy Bible.
