Problem:

 Every hyperlocal ecommerce platform in the market needs delivery space. Being a small and
early stage start-up with limited access to funds how can we create a mark in the market? What
are the marketing techniques you would use considering that you have limited funds available
with you?
a) Approaches taken.
b) Risks and mitigation.
c) Recommendations and suggestions to improve.
d) Conclusion.
Approaches Taken:

1.Content Marketing.
Target audience must be all age groups so as to increase the diversification among all.
Message must be created by keeping in mind the CSR activities as well.
Proper and right communication channel must be chosen Like
“Linkdin,Instagram,Tiktok,Facebook”.
it’s vital to create and research buyer personas carefully before deciding which of app marketing
strategies to choose for your food delivery service. But today, it’s also important to find a niche
for your product to compete with big food delivery players.
Create unique selling proposition.
Approaches Taken:

2.Search Engine Optimization

Optimize website content by including relevant keywords like “order food online”, “ online
food ordering business”, “online restaurants in <location>”, “food delivery in
<location>”. This will help customers to easily find you, which ultimately will also result into
better ranking.
Start a blog that allows you to produce content on regular basis. As much as people love
eating, they also love reading about the recipes, nutritious value, new cuisines, etc.
Besides, a blog will also allow you to target relevant keywords & attract traffic to your
website.
For PPC, We can use Google AdWords Keyword Planner to choose the right keywords. The
keywords should relate to what people are searching for.
Approaches Taken:
3.Video Content Marketing
 We can convey brand’s mission in the explainer video, since branding is not all about what you are
doing today; it’s also about what you are going to be in coming years, and how you plan your roadmap
to achieve that goal.
As a food ordering marketplace, you have so much to offer through video content besides just the
explainer video. You can share recipe videos, videos for the nutritious value of ingredients, and much
more during marketing in food industry.
4.Don’t Underestimate the Power of Email & SMS
Efficient food marketing strategies are all about sending the right message to the right person at the
right time. Not all users will visit your website frequently or have your app installed. To reach out to
them and inform about your offerings and details about their orders in a timely manner, email & SMS
are still the most reliable means of communication.
90% of the text messages are read within 3 minutes. So, for limited period offers, broadcasting the
message through SMS is a great way to reach your customers in timely fashion.
Risk & Mitigation:
1.Customer Privacy & Data
Back in the not-so-olden days, customers simply called up your restaurant to order. Their order
was then delivered by a driver employed by the restaurant. Maybe they provided a credit card
over the phone. Maybe they paid in cash at the door.  But times have changed. Now customers
order on their cell phones and through food delivery apps like Uber Eats and Zomato. Sensitive
data, including credit card numbers, is transmitted and frequently stored, often across
multiple networks and systems.
2.Tampering
This could easily fall under the “Food Safety” heading as well, but it comes with some unique
challenges that make it worthy of its own section.
How many of you can order takeout from your favourite fast food restaurant and NOT sneak a
French fry or two on the way home in the car? The smell is hard to resist. I’m ask guilty as
anyone in this regard. And delivery drivers are not immune to the lure of delicious bites.
Risk & Mitigation:
3.Food Quality
Your food is your product as a restaurant. And your reputation is built on how good your
product is. The question becomes how well does your product travel? Lots of foods are meant
to be served immediately upon being cooked. How does your food fare when it’s been cooked,
sits on the counter or in a holder awaiting the delivery driver and then sitting in the car in a
delivery bag or box (or not)? Are the crispy things still crispy? Are the vegetables wilted? Do you
have hot and cold ingredients side by side in the same container?
1) Testing phase need to do fast demand check product.
2) Legal Risk with reference to product.
3) Economic risk like covid19.
4) Lack of diversification lack of suppliers, customer more than one.
5) Political risk change in entrepreneurs.
Recommendation & Suggestions:
1. First I would say is you need to build a small but good team for delivery. All your other
strategies would be useless if your team is not efficient. My sales strategy is simple give the
best product or service to the customer.
2. Do not invest a huge amount upfront on the software system, There are a lot of readymade
out of box online ordering systems available. You need a good User Interface so that your
customers keep coming back for more and in backend it should be easy to use and maintain
and should not be slow. And Very Important you need MOBILE APPS. Today even my
uneducated mom has a smartphone with internet connection and Hindi language apps
installed on it, she still cannot use a desktop but swipes, taps and orders on her mobile like a
pro.
3. Fix these 2 above issues and have an satisfactory reply within yourself. Logistic and labour
cost is equivalent to unit price of the food delivered(sometimes even more).
Conclusion:

 As per our above discussion I here by confer that with low investment cost and small team and
low market presence we can increase our revenue by doing and applying above mentioned
steps and it will definitely create a high impact.
Thank You
