Feeding Program

The study assessed the effectiveness of the feeding program at Sta. Ana National High School by comparing the mean weight status of beneficiaries before and after the program. Results showed the mean weight was underweight before at 14.19 but increased to normal after at 16.45. Statistical analysis found a significant difference between before and after weights with a p-value of 0.00. The study concluded the feeding program improved nutrition and recommended expanding it to serve more students.

INTRODUCTION
 This study is all about the feeding
program to assess the
effectiveness of the said program
to the beneficiaries students in
Sta. Ana National High School.

THEORY BASE
 According to Vermeersch and Kremer(2004) .They found
that children in the treatment group participated 35.9 percent
of the time compared to 27.4 percent in the comparison
(control) group and this difference was statistically significant
(ibid). conducted a field-study in Western Kenyan preschools
between 2000 and 2002 to evaluate the impacts of School
Feeding Program on school participation and achievement.
STATEMENT OF THE
PROBLEM
 What is the mean weight status of the beneficiaries before the
feeding program, when group according to grade level 7,8,9,10?
 What is the mean weight status of the beneficiaries after the
feeding program, when group according to grade level 7,8,9,10?
 Is there significant difference between the before and after mean
weight status of the feeding program beneficiaries ?
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
 The researcher wants to examine the feeding
program and its efficacy towards improving students
weight after the feeding program , especially to the
students who are considered as wasted and
severely wasted as the primary beneficiaries of the
said program in Sta. Ana National High School.

 This study focuses on the assessment of the
feeding program in Sta. Ana National High School.
 This study for school year 2018-2019 is limited to
the school of Sta. Ana National High School.
 The study lasted for one month as of the availability
of the data.
ASSUMPTION
 There is no significant difference
of the weight status of the
students before and after the
feeding program in Sta. Ana
National High School.
METHOD
 The research for this study can
be done through the use of the
record data collected from the
school clinic in Sta. Ana National
High School.
RESEARCH DESIGN
 This study is descriptive
comparative design.
PARTICIPANTS
 Beneficiaries students in
Sta. Ana National High
School.
SAMPLING DESIGN
 The researchers used the non-
random sampling design
which is the purposive
sampling.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
 The researchers gathered the data given
by the assigned teachers in the said
program. These records are the nutritional
health status of each beneficiaries from the
school clinic in the feeding program of the
Sta. Ana National High School.
DATA GATHERING
PROCEDURE
The following procedures were implemented in collecting the
data.
The researcher requested a permission from the principal of
Sta. Ana National High School for the conduct of the study.
After the approval, a request letter was submitted to the
assigned teachers to the said program.
The data gathered comes from the availability of the records.

SUMMARY and CONCLUSION
 The total mean obtained by the researchers
from the data before the program is 14.9 with
a standard deviation value of 1.79. The after
results obtained by the researcher is 16.45
with a standard deviation of 1.82. both sides
has an equivalent p-value of 0.00 which is
lower 0.05.
 The overall findings proved that students who
will undergo feeding program will improve their
nutrition.
RECOMMENDATION
 The researcher recommends that
making the population of the
beneficiaries bigger will help more
students to attain it’s needs in terms of
hungriness in school premises.
 It is recommended that the facilities for
the feeding program should be improve to
serve more beneficiaries for the program.
