Final Rasayana

Human body composition according to Ayurveda. The human body is made up of cells ("koshikas") that are constantly being produced and destroyed through the processes of anabolism and catabolism, known as metabolism. Ayurveda views metabolism as the conversion of the five elements ("panchbhoutikam") in food into bodily tissues through digestion and absorption. Proper nourishment, environment, digestive capacity, and circulation in the microscopic channels ("srotas") are necessary for health maintenance. Rasayan therapies can help reduce the effects of aging by rejuvenating the body at the tissue, metabolic, and circulatory system levels.
