Arranging the data in increasing order.
For example: Letters from A to Z, numbers from
lowest to highest.
Descending Order
Descending Order
Arranging the data in decreasing order.
For example: Letters from Z to A, numbers from
highest to lowest.
Sorting on One Column
• Data is arranged in
an ascending or
descending order for
only one column.
• For example: A list of
students marks in a
class in maintained
with the “Marks” of
all the students
arranged in an
descending order.
