Voyage Reporting: Watch The Video About The Voyage Performance Monitoring System Navigator Insight

Voyage reporting collects and stores vessel data to analyze performance and ensure efficient sharing of information. It provides location, speed, consumption, weather, and machinery condition data. Crew input data via an onboard system and send it to a server accessed by stakeholders like fleet teams and operators. Event reports list voyage conditions faced, while noon reports record additional data like location, speed, and consumption at noon daily. Mismatching data can be detected by crosschecking engine power against speed and consumption, using formulas to ensure reported values align. Additional research found voyage reporting monitors ship operations to optimize performance and compliance.

Voyage Reporting
Task :
Prepare a group presentation (team of up to 5 students) giving an
overview on following subjects :

1. What is the purpose of voyage reporting?

2. Who are the users of reported data?
3. How does the voyage reporting system work?
4. What is an “Event Report”?
5. Which types of events are reported?
6. What is a “Noon Report”?
7. Which data and additional information are recorded in a noon report?
Voyage Reporting
Voyage Reporting purposes is to help ship owners to ensure data
performance analysis, collect and store the data and also share the
information more efficient. Also, collected sufficient data for proper
environmental and performance management.
Voyage Reporting provide vessel informations, such as:
- Speed, distance, port, ETA
- Location
- Weather
- Consumption
- Machinery condition in operation
Work Process
• Installed the navigator insight on board
• The content of reported data decides by operator
• The data filled in onboard by the crew -> the crew would fill each voyage
event that exists on the event page
• When data input is finished, the check button will show the check results
with the rules indicates
• When the reported checked and all error has been removed, saved the
event form
• Next is sending the data in communication page to the navigation insight
server
• Navigation insight server -> can be accesesed by the stakeholder
Users of Voyage reporting data
• Fleet Team
• Operation Departement
• Operator
• Agent
• Charter, etc
Event Report
Event report is the listed current voyage condition that might face by
the vessel in operation. There are more than 30 predefined events such
(depend on demand). The operator decides what kind of information
that must be reported by the crew on board.

8. How can the mismatch of reported data be detected? For example, how would
you crosscheck, that the reported
a) M/E power [kW] & average ship speed [kn = nm/h]
b) M/E power [kW] & fuel consumption [kg/h]
are matching each other?
