Voyage Reporting
Task :
Prepare a group presentation (team of up to 5 students) giving an
overview on following subjects :
1. What is the purpose of voyage reporting?
2. Who are the users of reported data?
3. How does the voyage reporting system work?
4. What is an “Event Report”?
5. Which types of events are reported?
6. What is a “Noon Report”?
7. Which data and additional information are recorded in a noon report?
Voyage Reporting
Voyage Reporting purposes is to help ship owners to ensure data
performance analysis, collect and store the data and also share the
information more efficient. Also, collected sufficient data for proper
environmental and performance management.
Voyage Reporting provide vessel informations, such as:
- Speed, distance, port, ETA
- Location
- Weather
- Consumption
- Machinery condition in operation
Work Process
• Installed the navigator insight on board
• The content of reported data decides by operator
• The data filled in onboard by the crew -> the crew would fill each voyage
event that exists on the event page
• When data input is finished, the check button will show the check results
with the rules indicates
• When the reported checked and all error has been removed, saved the

8. How can the mismatch of reported data be detected? For example, how would
you crosscheck, that the reported
a) M/E power [kW] & average ship speed [kn = nm/h]
b) M/E power [kW] & fuel consumption [kg/h]
are matching each other?

9. Do some additional research on “Voyage Performance Reporting” and on
“Ship performance monitoring”. Present the results of your research.
