Application software also known as
“application” is a type of program
which performs a specific task and
allows one to maximize the use
computer.

Application software comes in different type
depending on its usage. Some of the most
common application software are productivity
tools, browsers, graphics and multimedia,
utilities and gaming software. All software
requires a license whether it is a free, open-
source or proprietary. A license is a
mechanism that authorizes one to use the
software, separate from any fees you may
need to obtain a license.
LESSON OBJECTIVE:

At the end of the lesson the trainee


should be able to:

Installation

EQUIPMENT:
• Laptop with Optical Drive (DVD ROM)
Steps and Procedures in
Installing MS Office 2010 Home and
Students Edition
Using the CD/DVD Installation Disc
STEP 1:
Insert the program disc into the laptop’s
disc drive or tray, label side up
STEP 2:
Click the option to run Install or Setup.
STEP 3:
Enter the Product Key.
If asked, Read and accept the Microsoft
Software License Terms, and then click
Continue.
STEP 4:
Choose Install Now to proceed to
Express Installation.
STEP 5:
Follow the prompts and after Office
installs, click Close.
STEP 6:
In the Activation wizard, click I want to activate
the software over the Internet, and then follow
the prompts.
ACTIVITY:

Install a copy of Microsoft Office


2010 into a computer using an
installation disc.
