BUDDING BUDS SR. SEC.

SCHOOL

SOCIAL SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES DEPARTMENT

Report on Python workshop held on July 30, 2025.

The initial part of the workshop focused on foundational Python coding concepts:

 Commands: Basic instructions given to the Python interpreter.

 LOC (Line of Code): A metric representing the number of lines in a program's source code.
 Bugging and Debugging: Identifying and resolving errors or "bugs" in code.
 Procedure-Oriented Programming (POP): A programming paradigm based on the concept of
calling procedures.
 Object-Oriented Programming (OOP): A programming paradigm based on the concept of
"objects," which can contain data and code.

AI and Cybersecurity Insights

The later part of the session expanded into the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity:

 Indicators and Challenges of AI: Discussion on how AI is identified and the obstacles in its
development and implementation.
 Skill Gap: Understanding the disparity between the skills required for jobs and the skills possessed
by the workforce, particularly in tech.
 Various Applications: Exploration of different applications and platforms, including:
 Perplexity: An AI-powered answer engine.
 Kahoot: A game-based learning platform.
 AI for All Program: Initiatives aimed at making AI accessible.
 Cybersecurity: Principles and practices for protecting computer systems and networks from
digital attacks.

Practical Activities and Safety

The workshop also included practical applications and crucial information on digital safety:

 Practical Activities: Participants engaged in two hands-on activities, including creating a lesson
plan on a subject of their choice.
 Protection Sites: The session concluded with learning about various online protection sites, such
as Sanchar Sathi, and methods to keep personal phone numbers safe.
In teaching social science to school children, educators can use AI tools and technologies to create more
engaging, personalized, and interactive learning experiences.

1. Interactive Simulations and Role-Playing

AI-powered simulations allow students to experience historical events and social phenomena firsthand. For
example, students can role-play decisions during significant moments in history such as peace treaty
negotiations or civil rights debates.

2. Immersive Virtual Tours

AI can generate virtual tours of historical sites or geographical locations, letting students explore ancient
civilizations or important landmarks virtually. This will help in engagement beyond traditional textbook
learning and helps contextualize the material.
3. Personalized Learning and Adaptive Content
AI tools can analyze individual student strengths and weaknesses to generate customized learning
materials and assessments.

4. AI-Assisted Lesson Planning and Content Creation

Teachers can use AI platforms to generate lesson ideas, discussion questions, multimedia resources, and
even adaptive quizzes. This not only speeds up preparation but also enriches the curriculum with diverse,
relevant content

5. Natural Language Processing for Text Simplification

AI can simplify complex social science texts into more comprehensible narratives, making it easier for
young learners to grasp dense concepts such as political theories or historical narratives.

6. Ethical and Critical Thinking Development

AI can support critical examination of social issues and narratives, helping students to analyze bias and
multiple perspectives in history and current events.

7. Make Learning Fun and Interactive

Use computer programs and apps that let students take virtual tours of important places or see historical
events as if they were there. Let students chat with AI bots acting as famous people (like freedom fighters
or leaders) to understand different points of view

8. Help Students Understand Data and Maps

AI can help students make and read maps, graphs, and diagrams which makes big topics easier to
understand. Students can see changes in places or politics over time using digital maps.

In summary, AI in social science education for school children enhances engagement, personalizes
learning, supports teacher productivity, and makes complex social science concepts more accessible and
relevant.
