3rd OFFICER INTERVIEW MATERIALS

1. Introducing

My name is Muhammad Jufrianto, but you can call me Jufri. I am 26


years old. My hometown is Maumere, but I currently live in Jakarta. I
have three elder sisters. Currently, I hold a deck officer class 3
operational license. I have one year experience as a Deck Cadet aboard
the MV Prima Sentosa.

2. Responsibility onboard
Responsibility of Third Officer
1. Assisting in the ship navigation, maintenance navigational chart and equipment,helping to
plot and monitor the ship's course
2. Watchkeeping standing watch on the bridge ensuring safe passage and adhering to the
watch schedule to maintain continuous ship operation
3. Safety assistance in the implementation of safety equipment maintenance onboard and
safety procedure drill, They are often involved in fire Fighting and life seving operations.
4. Cargo operation overseeing the loading and unloading of cargo including ensuring proper
storage and securing of cargo
5. Make ship condition onboard (Remains on board Fuel oil and fresh water)
6. Maintaining communication with other vessels, port and the ship's crew.

3. Planning Maintenance System ( PMS )


-Daily Maintenance
Daily check the condition and quantity LSA and FFA

-Weekly maintenance
Weekly check the condition and quantity LSA and FFA

-Monthly Maintenance
Monthly inspection
1. Check the condition and quantity of life boats, life raft, life jackets, immersion suit and
thermals protective aids.
2. The condition of auto-release units and containment of life raft
3. Condition of launching device for life saving equipment
4. Quantity and condition of other life saving equipment keep in the ship
5. Check recharging date of charges portable extinguisher (expire date for one year),
condition of bottle (corrosion), hose condition Leakage.
