There are 38 questions in all. All questions are compulsory.
This question paper has five sections: Section A, Section B, Section C, Section D and Section E. All the
sections are compulsory.
Section A contains twenty MCQ questions of 1 mark each.
Section B contains five questions of two marks each.
Section C contains six questions of three marks each
Section D contains four long answer questions of five marks each.
Section E contains three case study-based questions of four marks each.
There is no overall choice in the question paper. However, an internal choice has been provided in few

26. 150 workers were engaged to finish a piece of work in a certain number of days. Four workers dropped
the second day, four more workers dropped the third day and so on. It takes 8 more days to finish the
work now. Find the number of days in which the work was completed.

If the last term of an A.P. of 30 terms is 119 and the 8𝒕𝒉 term from the end (towards the first term) is 91,
then find the common difference of the A.P. Hence, find the sum of all the terms of the A.P.
27. Two right triangles ABC and DBC are drawn on the same hypotenuse BC and on the same side of BC. If AC
and BD intersect at P, Prove that AP × PC = BP × DP.
28. Find k so that the point P (−4, 6) lies on the line segment joining A (k, 10) and B (3, −8). Also, find the ratio
in which P divides AB.

32. In an AP of 50 terms, the sum of first 10 terms is 210 and the sum of its last 15 terms is 2565. Find the AP.
33. If a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle, prove that the other two sides are divided in the same
ratio. Using the above result, find x from the adjoining figure.

35. A round table cover has six equal designs as shown in figure. If the radius of the cover is 28
cm, find the cost of making the designs at the rate of ₹ 0.35 per cm 𝟐 . (use √𝟑 = 1.7)
OR
An elastic belt is placed round the rim of a pulley of radius 5 cm. One point on the belt is pulled directly
away from the centre O of the pulley until it is at P, 10 cm from O. Find the length of the belt that is in
contact with the rim of the pulley. Also, find the shaded area.

36. Read the given information and answer the following questions.
In the given figure, a folding table is shown. The legs of the table
are represented by line segments AB and CD intersecting at O.
Join AC and BD. Considering table top is parallel to the ground,
and OB = x, OD = x + 3, OC = 3x + 19 and OA = 3x + 4.

37. Read the given information and answer the following questions.
A TV tower stands vertically on a bank of a canal. From a point on
the other bank directly opposite the tower, the angle of
elevation of the top of the tower is 𝟔𝟎°. From another point 20 m
away from this point on the line joining this point to the foot of
the tower, the angle of elevation of the top of the tower is 𝟑𝟎°.
(i) Find the width of the canal.
(ii) Find the height of tower.
(iii) Find the distance between top of the tower and point D.

38. Read the given information and answer the following questions.
For the inauguration of ’Earth Day’ week in a school, badges were given to volunteers. Organisers
purchased these badges from an NGO, who made these badges in the form of a circle inscribed in a square
of side 8 cm. O is the centre of the circle and ∠AOB = 90𝒐 .
(i) What is the area of square ABCD?
(ii) What is the length of diagonal AC of square ABCD?
(iii) Find the area of sector OPRQO.
