The process diagram shows how packets of

instant noodles are made. Overall, there are
eight steps starting with flour being delivered
and ending with noodles being put into

The first six steps involve making the noodles

out of flour, water, and oil. First flour is
delivered by trucks and stored in silos. Then,

formed into circular discs. Then, these discs

water is released from a dam, and then at
night, the water is pumped back to the

Looking first at the daytime operation, this

begins when water flows down a river to a
high-level water storage facility with a dam.

of the dam and to a hydropower station.

which feeds power to the National Grid. At

in a low-level reservoir.

The nighttime operation starts with the turbines being reversed and water being pumped from

All the water stays in the high-level reservoir because the intake to the dam is closed.

sugar and hops and mixed in a whirlpool before cooling.

In the remaining stages, the cooled liquid is fermented by adding yeast and during the process,
carbon dioxide is extracted. Then, it is transferred to storage tanks, in order to be matured. In the
second to last stage, the matured beer is transferred to a filter for filtering. Finally, the beer is
packed in either bottles, barrels or put in tanker trucks for delivery.

Given are two maps depicting an island before and

after the building of tourist amenities. Overall the
island transforms from having no man-made
constructions to an island that is covered with
structures, except on the right-hand side of the
island.

Starting with the first map, which shows that the

island has only one beach on the left-hand side and it
is barren except for a few trees scattered around it.
The island is about 250 metres long and about 75
metres wide with no man-made features.

The second map illustrates the building of tourist infrastructure on the island. The left of the map
shows a path was constructed to allow tourists to go swimming at the beach. This path is
connected to a ring of bungalows. To the right of this path, a road was built with a reception
building beside it. The road leads to a restaurant above the reception and a jetty below it that
allows boats to dock. On the right side of the island, another ring of huts was constructed
connected by a path. The far right remains free from man-made construction.
