Notepad

Notepad is a simple text editor available on all Windows computers.


You can use it to:
• Write notes or messages
• Create small documents
• Edit code or text files
Steps to Use Notepad

Method 1: Using the Start Menu


• Click on the Start button (Windows logo).
• Type Notepad in the search box.
• Click on the Notepad app from the results.
Method 2: Using Run
• Press Windows + R on the keyboard.
Type notepad and press Enter.
How to Type and Edit Text

• Click anywhere in the white space and start typing.


• You can use Backspace to erase.
• Use your mouse or arrow keys to move the cursor.
• You can cut, copy, and paste text:
• Ctrl + X = Cut
• Ctrl + C = Copy
• Ctrl + V = Paste
How to save a file

• After typing, click on File in the top-left corner.


• Select Save As...
• Choose a folder (like Desktop or Documents).
• Type a file name, e.g., MyNote.txt
• Click Save
Open an existing file

• Open Notepad.
• Click on File > Open
• Browse to the folder where your file is saved.
• Select the file and click Open
