The Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), 1997 (Act 75 of 1997) give effect
and regulate the right to fair labour practices as conferred in the Constitution.
Employers should be well aware of the provisions contained in this Act. They should
also act in such a way, that they comply with the Act.

QUESTION 6: BUSINESS OPERATIONS (HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT)
The screening process can be defined as the process where applicants' documents
are being checked. A written contract of employment would include the terms and
conditions of employment. The role of the interviewer before an interview is
imperative since the success of the interview depends on it. The EEA gives the human
resource manager a guideline when choosing a suitable candidate.
Write an essay in which you include the following aspects:

• Explain the legal requirements of an employment contract.
