Time Speed & Distance Where x and y are the speeds at which distance is

Then t1 =d/s1
Right??
t2 = d/s2
So in simple word we can say that distance moved in

unit time is called speed.
Then, Average Speed= [(d + d + d+ ... ntimes)]/ [d/s1

Basic method: minutes the net ascending of the monkey is 12 - 5 = 7
Let the length of the first and the second train is x and y meters
respectively. So, to cover 63 meters the above process is repeated
x 63/7 = 9 times.
∴  5k (for first train)
6 Obviously, in 9 such happenings the monkey will slip 8
times because on 9th time it will climb to the top
Thus in climbing 8 times and slipping 8 times, he

Total distance covered by Shyam = 80 – 10 = 70 km (5) None of these
Let speed of Shyam be x km/h Solution :
Speed of Ram = x + 2 km/h Speed of A= 150km/hr
According to question Distance between P and Q= 150×3= 450 km
Distance travel by A while meeting B in the second
= case, when B is moving away from Q= 150×5= 750 km
90x = 70x + 140 Thus the distance between Q and C= 750-450=300

Distance travelled by goods train in 10 hrs = Distance covered by train to cross the bridge = length of bridge +

Solution : Let the length of the platform be x metres.
A train 200 m long running at 36 kmph takes 55 Then,
seconds to cross a bridge. x + 300/39 = 50/3
Speed of train = (36×1000/3600) m/sec. 3(x + 300) = 1950
