SAP Note 549268 describes which operating platforms are supported for SAP Java Connector (SAP JCo), which
releases of SAP JCo are supported until when, and what JDKs are required for SAP JCo.
Note: Starting with JCo 2.1.4, JCo requires the new Visual Studio .NET C/C++ runtime libraries on Windows
platforms. See SAP Note 684106 for details on how to install them.
Please note that support and maintenance for SAP JCo 1.1 ended on Dec. 31st, 2003.
License Terms
The SAP JCo is only available from SAP for connecting Java Applications to SAP Systems. Other than the
above permitted usage is not allowed by SAP. The redistribution of the SAP JCo is not allowed. The terms and
regulations of the respective End User License Agreement shall otherwise apply.

All SAP connectors are licensed without additional license fees as part of the respective solution or
component license. However, please note that each developer using a connector is required to get a
respective development license and that all users accessing application functionality through the relevant
connector are required to be licensed under a respective solution or component license.

Download SAP JCo Release 2.1.4
The SAP JCo 2.1.4 is unrestrictedly available for the following platforms: Windows NT/2000/2003, Linux (Intel
processors and IBM eServer zSeries), Solaris (for SPARC processors only), AIX, HP-UX, z/OS, OS/400, COMPAC
Tru64 and Apple OS X. For the exact platform and JDK prerequisites please see SAP Note 549268.
The package of the SAP JCo 2.1.4 includes the software as well as documentation, tutorial, and examples.
The SAP JCo 2.1.4 needs a JDK 1.3 or later. The Windows NT/2000/2003 versions of the SAP JCo are shipped
as a zip file. The Unix versions of the SAP JCo are shipped as a tgz file.
Important Note: To upgrade from an older version of SAP JCo, just overwrite the old SAP JCo installation
with the new package. Please make sure that you delete all old runtime libraries (these are for the SAP JCo
1.x: jCO.jar, jRFC11.dll, jRFC12.dll; and for the SAP JCo 2.x: sapjCO.jar, sapjcorfc.dll), since these might
interfere with the new libraries. See also the installation instructions.
For communication between a Java application and SAP Systems running in Unicode mode you need to use
SAP JCo 2.0.5 or later.
Note on 32bit versus 64bit: You only need the 64bit version, if you are using a 64bit Java VM. If you are
using a 32bit Java VM on a 64bit platform, please download the 32bit JCo.
Some JVMs offer both modes: 32bit as well as 64bit. In this case you need to start the JVM with an additional
startup parameter to specify the mode. (Please consult the JVM documentation.)
Release 2.1.4 of SAP JCo includes new functionality that is described in SAP Note 782181.

The SAP JCo 2.0.10 is unrestrictedly available for the following platforms: Windows NT/2000, Linux (for Intel
compatible processors only), Solaris (for SPARC processors only), AIX, HP-UX, OS/400 and Tru64.
Important Note: For the use within CRM 3.0 (SP15 or lower) and CRM 3.1 (SP05 or lower) you have to use
SAP JCo 2.0.5; for the use within other SAP Components, including SAP Web AS 6.10 or SAP Web AS 6.20
platforms (incl. SAP J2EE engine), or the stand-alone use of the SAP JCo for communication between Java
applications and any SAP Components you can use SAP JCo 2.0.10.
