Subject: Concern over severe water crisis.

Sir

Through the column of your esteemed daily, I would like to express my concern over water scarcity and generate awareness how to avert the crisis. Water is
the basic necessity of every human being. However, water scarcity is a major issue that is rising very rapidly in modern-day India. The problem has become so severe that
in many states the groundwater has almost dried up and people have to depend on water supply from other sources. In addition, water is one of the most misused commodities
that we still waste. (INTRODUCTION OF THE ISSUE/ CONCERN)

In the past, people knew the value of water and planned their lives around it. However, today we have knowledge but we still fail to understand the value of water. Though
experts, environmentalists and NGOs had been crying out loud about India's impending water crisis for a long time, they failed to garner public attention until the taps went
dry in big cities. Growing population, traditional method of irrigation, lack of knowledge of water recharge and management are some of the causes of water crisis. (CAUSE/
CONSEQUENCE)

However, the solution to this problem lies in the judicious irrigation techniques ie. watering plants and crops using a sprinkler or drip irrigation. Moreover, the government
needs to enhance technology and investment in water treatment. Besides, we should ensure optimization by water-free urinals, closing the running taps during dishwashing
and handwashing. By replacing leaking and dripping taps, we may save thousands liters of water that go waste. (SUGGESTIONS TO OVERCOME THE PROBLEM)

I hope that the authorities and people will work together to resolve this problem so that our future generations do not have to buy this necessity. (CLOSING LINE)

Thank You
Yours truly
