Summer Camp Feedback & Suggestions for Improvement

1. Organization & Responsibilities

One key area for improvement is the overall organization of tasks and responsibilities. There
were times when we were left waiting too long, unsure of what to do, particularly when we
had tasks outside. Assigning clear roles and responsibilities to each team member would
help ensure smoother operations. Kornel, as our leader, should officially delegate
responsibilities so that everyone knows their tasks in advance and can contribute
effectively.

2. Student Behavior & Respect

Another pressing issue was student interactions. Unfortunately, there were instances of
bullying, particularly from the older, more advanced students towards Oleg and the younger
ones. While it is great that they listen to and respect Mirella, Kornel, and myself, we should
implement a dedicated session on political correctness, mutual respect, and inclusivity
to address this issue directly. This will help create a safer and more welcoming
environment for all students.

3. Language Barrier & Classroom Conduct

As a non-Polish speaker, I encountered some challenges when certain students took
advantage of my limited Polish skills, saying inappropriate things during lessons. This
affected the overall classroom atmosphere. It would be helpful to establish clear behavioural
expectations at the start of the camp and reinforce them regularly to maintain a positive
and respectful learning environment.

4. Backup Plans & Technical Preparedness

We also faced some logistical challenges, particularly with internet connectivity
issues. If we plan a movie night, it should be properly discussed in advance, and the
movie should be downloaded ahead of time to avoid technical difficulties. Similarly,
having backup plans for different activities will help keep students engaged and ensure
smooth transitions between sessions.

5. Engaging & Interactive Lessons

One of the positive experiences was an improvised lesson where students watched an
episode and learned daily phrases. They absolutely loved this approach! This highlights the
importance of making lessons interactive and engaging. Moving forward, we should
incorporate more of these dynamic activities to enhance student participation and
enjoyment.

Final Thoughts
Overall, the camp was a great experience, and I appreciate everyone's hard work and
dedication. With a few adjustments—better organization, clearer responsibilities, improved
student conduct, and more interactive lessons—we can make future camps even better.
