Title: Dual-Campus Network Design for Dr. Yanga Colleges

Topology Type: Custom | Packet Tracer-Based

Scenario:
Dr. Yanga Colleges has two campuses: Main Campus and Annex Campus, each with two
floors. Your task is to design a secure, segmented, and scalable network infrastructure
using best practices.

Devices to Use

• 6 Routers

• 4 Switches (Managed)

• 7 PCs

• 2 Servers (1 DNS, 1 DHCP for IPv4)

• 2 Wireless Routers (Optional for Floor Access)

• Cables: Copper straight-through, crossover, and high speed WAN.

Requirements (100 pts)

Task Description
A. Network Design & VLSM (20 pts)
1. Create an IP addressing scheme using VLSM for both campuses
2. Assign IP addresses to all devices (servers, PCs, routers, switches)
Task Description
B. VLAN & Inter-VLAN Routing (20 pts)
3. Create at least 3 VLANs per floor (Admin, Faculty, Student)
4. Assign ports to correct VLANs on switches
5. Configure Inter-VLAN routing on router-on-a-stick

C. Routing Protocol (OSPF) (15 pts)

6. Use OSPF to interconnect all routers (multi-area recommended)

D. Trunking & NAT (15 pts)

7. Set up trunk ports between switches and routers
8. Configure NAT (PAT) to allow inside hosts to access the internet

E. ACL Configuration (15 pts)

9. Configure ACL to restrict VLAN 20 (Student) from accessing VLAN 10 (Admin)
10. ACL should still allow DNS & DHCP access

F. Server Configuration (10 pts)

11. Configure DHCP server to serve IPs for VLANs
12. Configure DNS server and test name resolution from PCs

G. End Device Testing (5 pts)

13. PCs must ping each other as allowed by ACL and OSPF
14. Successfully test name resolution (DNS) and DHCP leases

Floor Layout Suggestions

• Main Campus:
o Floor 1: Router, Switch1, 2 PCs (Admin/Faculty)
o Floor 2: Switch2, 2 PCs (Student/Faculty)
• Annex Campus:
o Floor 1: Router, Switch3, DNS Server, 2 PCs
o Floor 2: Switch4, DHCP Server, 1 PC
