Pilot study
Abstract The pilot study on the Arberekete to Gelemso Asphalt Road Construction Project addresses the significant issue of
delays in construction projects. To enhance project management procedures, the study attempts to evaluate the reasons
behind and consequences of these delays. The study uses a systematic methodology, which includes a questionnaire survey,
to identify the main reasons behind delays and the effects they have on the project. Important conclusions from statistical
research show how delays affect project outcomes and progress. The study comes to the conclusion that proactive
approaches are necessary to reduce delays and promote project success. These approaches include putting sophisticated
technology into practice, improving contract management, conducting routine monitoring, improving site management, and
encouraging stakeholder participation. To improve project efficiency and achieve successful outcomes, recommendations
include incorporating IoT and sensors, strong contract management procedures, frequent monitoring, efficient site
management, and stakeholder collaboration. Stakeholders can reduce delays and improve sustainability in building projects
by implementing these recommendations.
