Flash:
Flash is a multimedia platform used to add animation, video and interactivity to web
pages. Macromedia is a company name and flash is name of application. Flash is frequently used for
advertisements, games and flash animations for broadcast.
Flash manipulates vector and raster (bitmap) graphics to provide animation of text, drawings, and still
images. It support streaming of audio and video and it can capture user input via mouse, keyboard,
microphone, and camera.
Flash is a multimedia graphic program invented specifically for the web. Flash allows us to create
interactive animated vector graphics for the webs as well as for desktop presentations.

Timeline:
Timeline divides into frames. It represents the timing of animation that when the animation starts and
when its going to stop. Default frame rate of Flash is 12 FPS (FPS= Frame Per Second).
Layer palette:
Layer name: if you want to change the name of layer double click on it and you’ll be able to change
the name.
Hidden: hide your object on temporary basses.
Lock/Unlock: it enables you to lock and unlock your layer.
Outline: when you click on it, it will show the outline boundary.
Add guide layer: it will give the guldens to the object and the the object do the work
automatically.
Delete layer: deletes the layer.
The Stage:
The stage is where you compose the content for individual frames in the movie, drawing
artwork on it directly or arranging imported artwork.
Animation in flash:
Using Flash, you can animate objects to make them appear to move
across the stage and/or change their shapes, size, color, opacity, rotation, and other properties.
There are two types of animation in Flash:
1. Frame-by-frame animation
2. Motion Tweening animation
Frame-by-frame animation:
You can create frame-by-frame animation, in which you create a separate image for each frame.
Motion Tweening animation:
You can also create tweened animation, in which you create the first and last frames of an animation
and direct Flash to create the frames in between.
