ABSTRACT
TITLE: SMOKE DETECTING SYSTEM
In this paper, we describe a system for detecting carbon monoxide, particles of
smoke, and combustible gases. The detector is based on the application of
the Arduino platform with the MQ-2 sensor as the source of the input signal.
We explain the functioning principles of the gas sensor and provide details
about the detector configuration. This system can be effectively used for various
gas leakage detection scenarios, either independently or as part of a more
complex system. Experimental results demonstrate the system’s good
performance in detecting burning paper smoke and three types of combustible
gases.
The key components of the gas/smoke detector system include:
1. MQ-2 Sensor
2. Arduino Platform
3. Piezo Buzzer
4. LED Diodes (Green and Red)
