Effect of weather on sale of ice-cream of one way ANOVA study.
Objective: To calculate whether the sale of ice-cream significantly differs across 3
weather conditions (Summer, Monsoon, Winter) using one way ANOVA.
Introduction:
Weather plays a key role in influencing consumer behaviour. Ice-cream as a seasonal
product is expected to have different sales volume across weather. This study uses one
way ANOVA to determine whether average sale differs significantly across # types of
weather by analyzing sales data collected from college canteen. One way ANOVA
helps us to test if there are statistically significant difference between the means of
three or more independent groups.
Hypothesis:
Ho: μx = μy = μz
There is no significant difference in the mean sale of ice-cream across summer,
monsoon, winter.
HA: There is a significant difference in the mean sale of ice-cream across atleast one
pair of weather condition.
Variables:
Independent - weather condition
Dependent - sales of ice-cream
Sample and data collection:
Ice-cream sales data was recorded from college canteen on any five randomly selected
dayys from each weather type.

Conclusion:
Since the calculated F-value (29.57) is greater than the critical F-value (3.88), we
reject the null hypothesis. There is a statistically significant difference in ice-
cream sales across different weather conditions.
