Introduction to the
course.
About the Course
Electronics

The Electronics course aims to provide both

conceptual and practical content in this
discipline, which is essential for future
Biomedical Engineers to understand the
electronics required for the design, construction,
and operation of biomedical devices. The
acquired knowledge encompasses the
fundamentals of designing simple analog
circuits as well as those associated with the
construction of digital electronic circuits.

Have you seen this formula?

Let us open a Little discussion there.

What are the main units in electronics?

What is charge?

What is current?

What is voltage?

That’s the basis of the course so, in the first chapter

those concepts are going to be reinforced.

11
Projects

What is required for the Final Project?

The Project covers two components: Mini-Project and Final Project (25% of the course).

Mini Project Final Project

The mini Project is mandatory since it will be the basis of the final Project.
The topic is: A regulable voltage source or 5V voltage source.

12
Mini-Project

What is required for the Mini Project?

Video Tutorial of
Prototype of any
The process you
chosen one
did

You Will have two ways (or more if you want to propose):
1. Build from zero a source of voltage that only delivers 5V at the output.
2. Use an already commercial source of voltage and make it regulable.

13
Final-Project
What is required for the Final Project?
+0.5 Points to the TOTAL grade
Prototype Or + 1 Point to the TOTAL if you use
PDF
or STM32F103xx(bluepill) microcontroller
Simulation Simulation won’t have additional points, and
it will be different evaluation rubrics

What do the pdf contains?

1. State of the Art

2. Exploded view (or 3D)
3. Electronic Circuit Diagram LINK OF LATEX
4. Electronic Materials TEMPLATE
5. System Architecture
6. Simulation (or Prototype)
7. Functional Tests
8. Results

What is the prototype or simulation?

Two ways for Prototype: One way for Simulation:

1. Oral 1. Oral Presentation with a 30% of

2. Video Tutorial

about Code, Simulation
Environment, Parameters.

Extra Information:
State of Art (Example of Oximeter)
Typically this chapter can be divided into two sections:
- Development (theoretical basis): background, current studies, comparison of existing tools, etc.
- Conclusions (connection between what was investigated and the work to be carried out).
