1. INTRODUCTION
This procedure is to define the numbering and identification of units, areas, equipment
and instruments to be used on the 7000 MTPA Methacrylic Acid Plant . ENGINEERING
Firm
(T-Labs Engineering)‟s may use their own numbering system for internal use but all
documents submitted to QYK must carry the correct QYK Plant Numbers.
It is the intent that adherence to this procedure by Engineering Firm will ensure that no
tag numbers are duplicated between different areas of 7000 MTPA Methacrylic Acid
Plant . CONRACTOR shall bring to the attention of QYK any instances where he
believes this may not be realized.
2. DEFINITIONS
For the purpose of this specification, the following definitions shall hold:

OWNER QYK.
PLANT 7000 MTPA Methacrylic Acid Plant.
ENGINEERING Firm: T-Labs Engineering
Contractor The another contractor that will perform
remaining Engineering work which are not under scope of
T-Labs Engineering
FEED All the front-end engineering and design documentation
prepared by the FEED CONTRACTOR
MANUFACTURER Private or Public entity supplying equipment or materials
VENDOR The person, firm or corporation to whom the PURCHASE
ORDER is issued.
SHALL: Is to be understood as mandatory and denotes a
minimum requirement in order to conform to the
specification
SHOULD: Is to be understood as strongly recommended.

3. PLANT
For the purpose of plant numbering, the 7000 MTPA Methacrylic Acid Plant PROJECT
plants will be sub-divided and numbered according to Table 3.1 below.

4. EQUIPMENT (GENERAL)
4.1.EQUIPMENT NUMBERING
Any equipment assigned a number shall maintain the same number throughout the
project.
Numbers shall not be reused with-in the life of the project.
EQUIPMENT will be numbered in accordance with the following illustration:

4.2.AUXILIARY EQUIPMENT NUMBERING
Auxiliary equipment, such as that associated with a vendor package will carry the
primary equipment number with a suffix to identify the associated equipment.

4.3. INSTRUMENT NUMBERING
Instruments will be numbered by P&ID association and functional category.
Pressure Relief Devices will be numbered by P&ID association as a unique category.
Instrument functions will be in accordance with the Functional Identification of
Instruments table on the P&ID Legend.
All functional items and associated instrument loops will have the same number. A dash
is used as a delimiter.

SUBSTATION
Contractor to propose numbering philosophy of Itemized Electrical EQUIPMENT in
Substation for OWNER Approval at the start of the project.
4.5. FIRE FIGHTING AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Contractor to propose numbering philosophy of Fire Fighting and Safety Equipment for
OWNER Approval at the start of the project.
4.6.LINE NUMBERING

Unit Line Numbering will be in accordance with the following example.

4.7. CABLE AND JUNCTION BOX NUMBERING
Contractor to propose numbering philosophy of Electrical & Instrumentation Cable and
Junction Box Numbering for OWNER Approval at the start of the project.
Contractor to consider appropriate system and service identification and area
identification as per Table 3.1 in proposed Electrical & Instrumentation Cable and
Junction Box Numbering philosophy.
