Sub:- SLAM implementation over Prayagraj Division.


SLAM has been implemented over Prayagraj division since October 2023. Regular
related data of locomotives are being fed through Trip Sheds and TLC Module. However,
following issues are being faced in running the software:-

1. Real time location shown by SLAM is mostly incorrect.


2. Most of the Locos are shown as ‘invalid’ while making them ‘IN’ from the TLC
Terminal. List of such Locos are attached which could not be ‘Shed In’ through TLC
over last one week.
3. Once a loco is ‘Shed In’ from Trip Shed along with TI (Trip Inspection) or GC (Safe to
run) remarks, through trip shed module, its status cannot be amended as sometimes loco
nominated for TI needs to be immediately released after GC (STR) due to certain
situations. As such there should be provision to change the remark (TI or GC) to be
given at the time of ‘Shed Out’.
4. TI done position is often not updated in-time due to which many loco shows TI overdue
as many divisions are not using SLAM.
5. Sometimes, loco are stuck up in system. One such example is of loco no-35006 which
was showing under maintenance at PRYJ Trip Shed but not available in loco history.
Also, it was not available when tried to ‘Shed Out’. Screen shot to this effect is enclosed
for kind perusal.
6. We are not allowed to feed manual UOR. Earlier it was allowed to fill manually in loco
movement.
7. Many abnormalities related to location are coming in TLC Slam. Asset loco failure.
8. There should be option to communicate with foreign divisions.

Also, some suggestions are being furnished for improvement of the system.-

1. Loco forecast with attached train number should be visible one hour before entering into
our territory as being done in ICMS. Also a pop up should be displayed for a loco in
which any failure (registered online) in last 24 hours.
2. UORs of locos occurred since last schedule must be displayed on TLC module home
page. Loco History needs to be exhaustive.
3. Only ‘In Use’ locos must be visible on Home page.
4. For display of other Locos, separate button should be provided.
5. Only dead locos are allowed to feed in loco failure. Other UORs should also be allowed
to feed in SLAM.
6. Inter Zonal communication facility should be available.
