Interview
What society expects from teachers?
Parent

Name: Corazon C. Dela Cruz

"As a parent, my goal is to encourage all children to complete their studies, and one of the
main expectations I have for teachers is to provide the best possible teaching.”

“ A teacher should not only be a good source of knowledge but also serve as a model for
better character development.”

“ A teacher should guide all students toward a better future.”

“ Sometimes, students look up to their teachers more than their parents, so it is important for a
teacher to maintain a good image.”

“ There is a significant impact on children's behavior based on what teachers teach them."
Student

Name: Jervina Vidal Villamar

“ Being a teacher is a noble profession and the foundation and reason for the creation of
almost all professions today.”

“ As a teacher, society holds high expectations for their conduct in executing duties inside
and outside school settings. With the changes we are experiencing and the transitions we have
gone through—from the environment to the shift from physical to digital space—society expects
teachers to be able to adapt and modify their strategies in line with current scenarios.”

“ Amid the chaotic situations we are in, society also expects teachers to be considerate and to
take into account students’ mental health, capabilities, and, most importantly, financial aspects,
as not every student can afford certain projects.”

“ These expectations extend beyond their common job description. So, technically, being a
teacher is quite hard.”
Community Member

Name: Christian E. Bautista

“For me, a teacher should share knowledge and teach us right from wrong. They should help
children in the community learn and remember important things.”

“ I know it’s not easy to be a teacher, but teachers should make sure the information they share is
correct. So we or the children can learn from our mistakes, and can help us understand what’s
right and wrong.”

“ Also, They should be the one who guide all their students whenever they are in the school and
taught them something they could bring for the rest of their life.”

“ A teacher should be always know what to do and what to say to his/her students, because being
a teacher means the students that you are teaching is believing of what you are saying”
