LIFESTYLE MANAGEMENT – Is the particular way a person or a group of persons lives,
and the values and ideas supported by that person or group. This is the work, leisure, and
behavior pattern in one’s everyday life-the activities, habits attitudes, opinions and interest.
HEALTHY LIFESTYLE is a way of living that lowers the risk of being seriously ill or dying
early. Not all diseases are preventable, but a large proportion of deaths, particularly those
from coronary heart disease and lung cancer, can be avoided.
CAUSES OF OVERWEIGHT or OBESITY:
Overeating.
Sedentary lifestyle with no exercises.
Metabolic or eating disorder, medical conditions, or other types of hormonal
imbalance like thyroid problems.
Physical disabilities and food allergies.
Psychological and mental conditions caused by eating disorders.
METABOLIC DISORDER SYMPTOMS:
Fatigue
Muscle pain or weakness
Headaches
Developmental delays in infants and children
Nausea, vomiting, and/or low appetite
RECREATION are the activities that you voluntarily participate during your free time.
LIFESTYLE is a way of life. It is your style of living that reflects your attitudes and values
WEIGHT GAIN – It happens when energy consumed is greater than the energy expended.
You can gain weight if you eat much and do less physical activities.
WEIGHT LOSS – Occurs when the energy consumed is less than the energy expended.
This happens when there is more physical exertion but less food intake.
WEIGHT MAINTENANCE – Happens when the energy consumed is equal to the energy
expended. This means that the physical exertion is the same with the food intake.

2. IT IS A BIG BUSINESS – Quacks are often very successful. They make millions from
those who fall for their schemes.
3. IT IS FOR AN INCURABLE CONDITION – Quacks exploit individuals who are diagnosed
with illnesses that are known to have no cure.
4. IT MULTIPLE FAST – Quacks target those who are hopeless in their conditions and offer
cure and hope.
TYPES OF QUACKERY:
A. MEDICAL QUACKERY – Includes cures, treatments, and remedies to various health
conditions that are drugless or bloodless in nature.
B. NUTRITION QUACKERY – Involves promotion of food fads and other nutritional
practices that claim to be all-natural. These are believed to have beneficial properties of
multiple plants in one product.
C. DEVICE QUACKERY – Makes use of miraculous gadgets (such as dials, gauges,
electrodes, magnets, and blinkers) that are believed to cure certain health cinditions.
