ENGLISH GRAMMAR
I.    SINGULAR PLURAL
 We add -s or -es to make plurals of most singular nouns. Generally, we add -es
to nouns ending with s, ss, ch, sh, x and o to make plural.
Write the plural form for the following.

   II.   SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE
We add -s or -es to the verb when we use it with singular nouns or singular
pronouns like he, she and it.
Eg: A cheetah runs fast.
He walks fast.
We do not add -s or -es to the verb when we use it with plural nouns or plural
pronouns like We and They. We do not use -s or -es with pronouns I and you.
Eg: We walk fast.
They run fast.
I like dosas.
You like samosas.
The children play many games.

   III.   SIMPLE PAST TENSE
We add -ed to most verbs to form the simple past tense. Ed: help -> helped
If verb ends in a consonant + -y, we take off -y and add -ied. Eg: carry -> carried

   IV.     ARTICLES
The words a and an are called articles. We use a before words that begin with
consonant sounds. Eg: a box, a camel, a dog
We use an before words that begin with vowel ( a, e, i, o, u) sounds. Eg: an
egg, an owl

We use adjective to describe nouns (people, place, animals and things). These
words are also called describing words.

   VII.   QUESTION WORDS
Questions ate sentences that ask something. We use a question mark (?) at the
end of a sentence to show that we are asking a question.
We use who to ask about a person.
Eg: Who is that boy?
He is my friend.
We use where to ask about a place.
Eg: Where does he live?
He lives in the next street.
We use what to ask about a thing or action.
Eg: What is this?
This is a book.
What is she doing?
She is cooking.
We use When to ask about time.
Eg: When is the meeting?
The meeting is at 8:00 a.m.
We use Why to ask about reasons.
Eg: Why are you laughing?
Its funny.
We use How to ask for more details.
Eg: How do you swim?
I swim quite well.
