LabX Version 13.1

Software Update to LabX Version 13.1
- Please read this information carefully before updating LabX -
Before updating LabX the following is highly recommended:
Complete all open tasks, since all tasks with the status of running, paused or waiting are
stopped and cannot be resumed after the update.
If Report approval is activated, sign all unsigned reports. Once updated, reports created but
not signed from previous versions can no longer be signed.
Create a backup of your database (e.g. using LabX DB Maintenance located in the program
folder METTLER TOLEDO > LabX).
It is required to archive the system to ensure consistency when creating reports that span
multiple versions before and after the update. (Since the data structure may be updated, the
consistent presentation of data across multiple software versions cannot be guaranteed.)
Make sure that the PC operating systems and the database engine are supported by this
version of LabX.
Make sure that the software versions of the connected instruments are compatible with this
version of LabX.
For systems that have LabX installed on one PC follow these steps
1 Make a backup copy of your database.
2 Install the new version of LabX from the LabX USB flash drive (the deinstallation of the
previous LabX version and the installation of the new LabX version will be done automat-
ically by the installation wizard).
3 Confirm to restart the computer when prompted.
For systems that have LabX installed on multiple computers follow these steps
(Distributed System)
Ensure that all LabX clients are closed/offline (PC clients, instrument clients and API clients).
Do not delete the LabX database since it will be updated during the installation procedure.
1 Make a backup copy of your database.
2 To remove existing LabX components, select Start > Settings > Apps > LabX Setup and
click Modify.
3 Select Remove LabX from your Computer and remove existing LabX components on all
computers in the following order:
- Computers with Instrument Servers and Clients
- Computer with Business Servers
- Computer with Database Server
4 Install the new LabX components from the LabX USB flash drive in the reverse order.
Note
Reboot the computers and instruments if you encounter any difficulties during the process.
After updating, please verify the settings for roles in the User Management, as new functionalities are
disabled by default.

Documentation on the LabX USB flash drive.
