This is just an Addenda to the standard manual for the special feature/setting only.
For any safety, installation, operation information refers to the standard manual.

1.0 WHERE TO WIRE THE SERIAL PORT

1.1 Serial Communication

The DMC55 features an RS485 serial port (see connector M14 on Pic.1) allowing the connection to a network managed by a PC
or PLC controller.
The connector M14 is composed by three pins: GND, A, B

Pic. 1 Pic. 2

If a PC is used, the connection between the PC and the DMC55 network requires installation of an interface adaptor (can be
purchased as accessory) to convert the RS485 signal into RS232 or USB.
The RS485 line is made of a two wire cable and can be up to max. 2000 meters long; use shielded twisted polyethylene cable for
distances exceeding 100m.
Wire a 120 ohm ¼ W resistor at the RS485 network end.

2.8 Modbus Dryer Management

It is possible to manage the dryer status and also User parameters by Modbus communication, writing the correct registers.
To avoid unwanted modifications, writing function is password protected.
To enable write function, the correct password has to be written to register 5010 before parameters writing.
The password is:
- USER password: 0xAC1D hex

USER password keeps the writing function enabled for 60 second after last parameter writing, after that it is necessary to re-
write the password in to register 5010 to write another parameter.

Setting parameter [DrC] “Dryer Remote Control” to MODBUS enables the possibility of managing the dryer using following
parameters:
- “Dryer ON/OFF” (address 102) to change the Dryer status
- “Modbus Alarm and Service Reset” (address 103) to reset alarms and warnings

The following table explains all parameters available in Modbus writing.
