COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course explores the intersection of film, cinema and literature, examining ways in which
literary texts are adapted into film and the cultural, historical, and aesthetic contexts that shapes
these adaptations.
Course Objectives
Analyse the relationship between literature and film, finding adaptation processes and
theoretical frameworks
Examine the cultural, historical, and aesthetic contexts that influences film adaptations of
literary texts
Develop critical thinking and writing skills through the analysis of literary and cinematic
texts.

Week 1: Introduction to film and Literature
Overview of the relationship between film and literature
