USER INTERFACE
The interface of PowerPoint
includes the Ribbon, the Slides tab,

RIBBON
This is the main menu where you will find tools used for
creating PowerPoint presentations.
SLIDES TAB
Displays thumbnails of each slide in the presentation.
PRESENTATION WINDOW
This is where you can view and edit the full slide.
STATUS BAR
The Status Bar shows the current slide number as well as
the total number of slides. It also displays the language
setting for proofing. It includes tools for changing the view or
zoom level. If the Notes and Comments panes are not
showing, simply click their icons on the Status Bar to make
them visible.

NOTES PANE
Allows you to add speaker notes to the presentation.
You can print these notes to use as a guide when
delivering your presentation.

Lets you add comments to a presentation, which is especially
useful when working with a team to develop a presentation.

Located at the top of the PowerPoint window, this
provides one-click shortcuts to commonly used

BASIC STEPS ON HOW TO

PRESENTATION
STEP 1
Open the PowerPoint
software.
STEP 2
On the left side of the window, you
will see the Slide Navigation Pane.
Click the “New Slide” button.
STEP 3
In the slide area, you will see a blank slide. Look at
the Ribbon at the top and go to the “Home” tab. In
the “Slides” group, you will see different layout
options.
STEP 4
Click on “Click to add title.” Write your
favorite animal. For example, “DOG.”
STEP 5
Click on “Click to add text.” Write a
sentence about your favorite animal.
STEP 6
To see what your slide will look like when
presented, go to the “Slide Show” tab in
the Ribbon and click “From Beginning.”
STEP 7
Use the arrow keys or navigation
controls at the bottom to move
between slides.

After creating the text box, type some text. If you click
outside the text box without adding any text, the text
box may disappear.
FORMATTING
STYLE, BORDER,
AND COLOR
1. Click the text box to highlight it.
2. In the PowerPoint Ribbon, click
the Shape or Shape Format tab
(this depends on your PowerPoint
version).
STYLES
Various preset and theme-based styles for text boxes,
including background colors, borders, and shadow
effects.
SHAPE FILL ICON
Used to add background color to the text box.
SHAPE OUTLINE ICON
Change the border color and style of the text box,
including arrows, dashes, sketches, and weight.
SHAPE EFFECTS ICON
Used to add effects to the text box, including 3-D
rotation, bevel, glow, reflection, and shadow.
FORMAT TEXT
1. To format text in the text box, click it
and highlight the text you want to
format.
2. Choose your desired formatting
options. You can choose from bold,
italic, underline, font type, size, and
color. You may also change the
highlight color of the text.

On a PowerPoint slide, click inside the text box where
you want to place the WordArt

In the WordArt Styles group, click your desired
WordArt style and add WordArt text to the slide.

formatting options from the WordArt Styles group on

Steps:
1.Open Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation.
2.Go to Insert > Pictures.
3.Find an image of Intramuros on your local
drive, and insert it into the slide.
4.Insert WordArt text and label it as
"Intramuros".
5.Save your work to the local disk drive using
the student's name as the filename.
