The Missed Flight (First, Second & Third Conditional)

Last Friday, Emma was supposed to fly to Berlin for an important conference. She woke up
late because she had forgotten to set her alarm. If she had set the alarm, she wouldn’t have
missed her taxi. The traffic was terrible, and by the time she reached the airport, the gate had
already closed.
“If I leave earlier next time, I won’t miss my flight,” she said to herself. She was frustrated
because if she had arrived five minutes earlier, they might have let her board.

Emma then called her boss. “If you had told me you were flying early in the morning,” he
said, “I would have reminded you to double-check your schedule.” Emma felt embarrassed,
but she learned a lesson. Now, she knows that if she prepares better, she won’t face the same
problem again.

She also joked, “If I were more organized, I would already be in Berlin right now!”

A Greener Future (Zero, First, Second & Mixed

Conditionals)
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Many scientists agree that if
people continue polluting, the Earth will suffer irreversible damage. For example, if global
temperatures rise, ice caps melt and sea levels increase.

But it’s not too late. If we take action now, we can still save the planet. If governments invest
in renewable energy, carbon emissions will decrease. However, if they ignore the problem,
future generations will pay the price.

Imagine a world where cities are full of trees, people use electric transport, and waste is
recycled daily. If more people cared about the environment, we would live in a cleaner,
healthier world. Sadly, some people still say, “It’s not my responsibility.” But if everyone
thought that way, we wouldn’t have a future at all.

In the end, it’s simple: If we protect nature, it protects us back. If we don’t, we might regret it
forever.
