Using Protractor

Measuring angles
We draw and measure angles with a protractor.
It has an inner scale and an outer scale.

0° to 180°

This is the
zero line
0° to 180°

This is the
vertex
To measure angles with a protractor:

A
1) Place the vertex of the protractor on the
vertex of the angle.

2) Align the zero line of the protractor with


one of the arms of the angle.

3) Choose the scale which points to 0 on the


arm of the angle (here, inner scale).

B C 4) Count the division marked as pointed by


the other arm of the angle.

∠ 𝐴𝐵𝐶=55 °
To measure angles with a protractor:

A

vertex of the angle.
