Useful Tips
• All amigurumi toys are crocheted with tight stitches. Avoid small holes. If there are any
holes through which stuffing material can be seen, use a smaller size hook. (Use a smaller
hook size than is recommended on the label of the yarn.)
• To avoid seams, all rounds are worked in a continuous spiral. Do not join or turn it unless
otherwise instructed.
• Use a stitch marker or a piece of yarn to mark the last stitch of every round.
• Stuff your amigurumi as you go. It is very hard to stuff the detail evenly when it is
almost finished. While stuffing do not forget to shape the body parts to give them a nice
accurate shape. Never over stuff them.

*Place the arm next to the body. Use the arm’s closest 4sc to the body when you crocheting R29.
(You can crochet the arms in a different position if they are not symmetric.)
**Use the other 4sc on the arms when crocheting R30. Like this both sides of the arms will be
crocheted to the body.

Skirt
Turn the doll upside down to crochet the Skirt. (Do not crochet tight stitches, if you have tight
stitches use a 0.5mm larger hook.) Work on R15 FLO of the Body. Use black yarn.

Shoulder of the dress:
Take black yarn and ch30: start to crochet hdc in the 3rd stitch from the hook: 28 hdc. (Measure
the 30 chains around the shoulder, maybe you will need less stitches to connect the end of the
stripe.) Pin this stripe onto the doll. Sew it onto the dress using the front loops on R29.
Sew it onto R29 FLO
Sew tree X-es 3 rows above the skirt with white yarn. They are 5st wide and 3st high.

Take dark brown yarn and ch31: start to crochet hdc in the 2nd stitch from the hook: 30sc.
(Measure the 31 chains around the hip, maybe you will need less stitches to connect the end of the
stripe.) Pin this stripe above the skirt and sew it onto the dress.
Take a piece of golden yarn and sew a small rectangle on the belt. The belt is 3 stitches wide and it
is right between the X.

When you made your last stitch, crochet a sl. Do not cut the yarn, turn your work and continue
with the hair strands.
Hair Strands (24 pieces)
The back side of the base is facing to you. Crochet a hair strand each stitch in R4:
Make 15 pieces: Ch102, start to crochet hdc in the 3rd stitch from the hook: 100 hdc and sl,
Make 2 pieces: Ch13, start to crochet hdc in the 3rd stitch from the hook: 11 hdc and sl,
Make 5 pieces: Ch11, start to crochet hdc in the 3rd stitch from the hook: 9 hdc and sl,
Make 2 pieces: Ch13, start to crochet hdc in the 3rd stitch from the hook: 11 hdc and sl.
Cut the yarn, but leave a longer yarn tail for sewing.
Back side
Turn your work to crochet the rest of the hair strands onto the front loops.
Important! Crochet your hair strands tight, they will not curl if you have loose stitches. Use a
smaller hook if it needed! Also, some yarn is quite stiff, you have to help with your finger or a
pen to make them curl.
Tutorial: How I crochet hair
13
Hair Strands (18 pieces)
The front side of the base facing to you. Crochet a hair strand each front loop:
Ch102, start to crochet hdc in the 3rd stitch from the hook: 100 hdc and sl,
Front side
Close it with a sl. Cut the yarn,
Style the Hair
Place the hair on the head. (The magic circle of the base has to be on top of the whole of the
head.) Secure it with a pin in the middle.
Gather the 18 pieces hair strands that you crochet of the front loops previously. Secure the base
with more pins.
(I used a piece of yarn to tight up the hair, but you can use a rubber band or anything you like.)
14
The next step is to pin the rest of the 24 hair strands onto the head. The 9 shorter hair strands
will be the fringe of the doll, arrange them above the eyes, the rest of it pin them onto the head.
First sew the base of the hair onto the head. Then the hair strands one by one.
If you do not like to sew you can use fabric glue instead. But sewing gives nicer and more secure
result. When you finish, just let the hair down. See the picture below.

Close it with a sl. Cut the yarn. Take a pipe cleaner and insert onto the pint of the hat, then curl it.
16
Put a little filling inside the hat. Be careful not over stuf it. Now we will crochet a litthe circle to
cover this hole.
Little cover
R1 Start with black yarn. Mc (6sc) (6)
R2 (inc) x6 (12)
R3 (1sc, inc) x6 (18)
R4 (2sc, inc) x6 (24)
R5 (3sc, inc) x6 (30)
Close it with a sl. Cut the yarn, leave a longer tail for sewing.
Place the cover on the hole, secure it with pins. Then sew it onto the hat.
17
Take dark brown yarn and ch40: start to crochet hdc in the 2nd stitch from the hook: 38sc.
(Measure the 40 chains around the hat, maybe you will need more stitches to connect the end of
the stripe.) Pin and sew the stripe onto the hat.
Sew a 30-35cm long black lace onto the hat. (You can use fabric glue instead of sewing.)
With a nice bow you can tight the hat safely on the head any time.
18
Cheeks
Use a little brush and pink or red blush to paint the cheeks under the eyes.
Your Wendy is ready!
THANK YOU!
