  PROJECT FINANCE

 SELF FINANCE
The cost of the equipment, labor, upgrades, material costs and other
relevant cost will be borne by the client. Consumer can avail benefits of
around 30-40% on their electricity bills.

 CAPEX

The CAPEX or the capital expenditure model, on the other hand, is a self-
funding model where consumers have to bear all the capital expenses
incurred in installing a rooftop system upfront. Investment will be
arranged by the client/ Commercial Bank/Financial institution/IDCOL.
These expenses include funds used to set up, maintain, and operate the
project. They also include the cost of the equipment, labor, upgrades, and
other material costs. CAPEX Model does not take long for consumers to
recover their investments under this model. It takes just about four/five
years for consumers to see returns on their capital investments.

Return of invest will come back within 4 to 5 years.

 OPEX

The OPEX or the operating expenses model is a system where the

developer owns the solar project, and the consumer only has to pay for the
energy generated. Rooftops installed under the OPEX model require the
consumers to enter into a long-term, legally binding agreement for the roof
on which the solar system is installed. They must also sign a long-term
power purchase agreement (PPA) for the supply of power.
  A major benefit of the OPEX model is going solar
without any largeupfront investments.
 Consumer can avail benefits of around 10-15%
on their electricitybills.

 NET METERING

Net metering is a mechanism which allows domestic or

commercial users who generate their own electricity
using solar panels or photovoltaic systems to export their
surplus energy back to the grid. An off-grid system is
generally a stand-alone system, while an on-grid system
is connected to the main utility grid and incorporates
the policy of net metering. The process of net metering
provides system owners with the opportunity to gain
extra revenue by selling their excess power to the grid
while also making up for shortfalls via the grid. If the
amount of energy generated is more than the amount of
energy consumed, then the owner gets compensated
for the excess amount. However, if the amount of energy
consumed is more than the amount of energy generated,
then it is imported from the utility grid and the owner
pays only the net amount.
