• Puerto Rico is located in the Atlantic Ocean. east of
the Dominican Republic and west of the Virgin
Islands.
• The capital and largest city of Puerto Rico is San
Juan, found on the north coast of the main island.
Puerto Rico has different types of land, like

mountains, rainforests, beaches, and flat coastal
areas.
• The weather in Puerto Rico is tropical, so it's usually ABOUT

Mosquito Bay, Laguna Grande, and La Parguera,
where microorganisms emit a blue-green glow in the
water when disturbed, creating a magical natural
phenomenon.

• Pedro Pierluisi is a popular Puerto Rican politician.
• Right now, he's the governor of Puerto Rico.
• Before, he represented Puerto Rico in the United States
Congress as Resident Commissioner.
• As governor, he's focused on fixing economic and
health problems and making the government more
open. He's also working on building better roads and
stuff on the island.
• Some people like what he's doing, but others aren't so

died law at the University of Puerto Rico.
• Before politics,he was a lawyer,mostly working on jo
b laws.
• He wants Puerto Rico to become a U.S. state.
• As Governor, he's trying to make Puerto Rico's econo
my better and the government more honest, especiall
y after disasters like hurricanes.
In Puerto Rico, just like in the United States,
the government is split into three parts:

in one of the 50 states.
It has its own local government but is subject to U.S. federal laws.

U.S. dollar has been the only money used in Puerto Rico for
buying things and doing business.
