I
t is that special time of the year again when we set ourselves
apart to seek the Lord through fasting and prayer – it
is time for 40 Days of Power. This is a sacred season for
the members of the International Central Gospel Church
(ICGC) and many Christians across various denominations,
that participate in this 40-day period of seeking God’s face
in a corporate fast. Over the years it has been my great joy
and honour to lead God’s people on this spiritual journey. I
continually praise God as I witness His people joining their
hearts in faith and prayer – and as I behold His faithfulness
manifested in many answered prayers.

The theme for ICGC in 2025 is ‘Jesus’. From the

beginning of this year, and through to its end, we
have set our focus on the foundation and centre of
our Christian faith – Christ Jesus. We are committed to
deepening our knowledge of His person, His purpose,
His principles, His provision and His power. This season
of consecration is a divine opportunity for each one
of us to reaffirm Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and
to draw nearer to Him. As we do, we will receive His
sufficient grace, through His Spirit, to live lives of purpose and victory. As Scripture declares
“And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.” (John 1:16). There will be an
outpouring of grace as we pray in faith.

This year’s 40 Days of Power begins from Thursday, 26th June 2025, and ends on
Monday, 4th August 2025. Throughout this period, we will spend time praying about
our personal lives, our families, the church, and the nations of the world.

Various ICGC assemblies will host in-person prayer services. You are welcome to visit any
assembly for personal prayer or to join others in corporate prayer at various advertised
service times.

This prayer guide will be a helpful companion for you during the 40-day period. It includes
weekly themes and daily sub-themes, each supported with relevant scriptures for reflection. It
also provides a biblical basis to pray in accordance with God’s word. With this guide, you can
pray with focus on a wide array of topics covering diverse themes. Various declarations have
been included for confession, to make each day’s prayers even more meaningful.

As always, endeavour to fast wisely with thoughtful consideration for your health and
wellbeing. Read and apply the helpful tips on effective fasting that have been included
in this guide.

As you embark on this spiritual journey, may your knowledge of Jesus, our reigning King,
increase! May He grant you many testimonies of answered prayer!

HELPFUL HINTS FOR FASTING

The practice of regular fasting is a normal Christian discipline taught by Jesus. In Matthew
6:16–18, Jesus provided guidelines for fasting. Fasting was also practiced by the early church
as evidenced in Acts 13:2. It has been a lifestyle for believers throughout church history.

Fasting has physical as well as spiritual benefits. It must be embarked on with spiritual
commitment and wisdom, with a heart’s desire to glorify God.

Do’s Of Fasting
1. It is best to prepare your body for the fast by cutting back on food portions and eating
smaller meals. This will help your body adjust more easily to the change in meal times.
2. Prevent constipation during and after the fast by eating fresh fruit and raw vegetables,
fruit or vegetable juices, oatmeal, and so on.
3. Drink lots of water as you fast.
4. Seek medical advice before the fast if you have any existing health conditions.
5. You can fast in different ways. For example, a Daniel fast is one in which you consume
only vegetables and water throughout the fast. Prayerfully seek God’s face concerning
the kind of fast you would wish to embark on.
6. Have a clear target as your prayer focus. Scripture teaches that without a vision or clear
goal, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18). Write down your vision for the fast so you can
run with it (Habakkuk 2:2).
7. Take time to pray and read God’s Word. This may seem obvious, but busyness and
distractions can keep you from daily devotions. Expect to hear God’s voice as you read
His word, through dreams, visions, and revelations as He wills. Daniel prepared himself
to receive revelation through fasting (Daniel 10:1–2).
8. Break your fast gradually. At this point you will need to exercise watchful self-control.
Break your fast on a meal that is light and easy to digest (i.e., broth, shredded apples,
watermelon, or steamed vegetables).
9. Anticipate spiritual opposition. Satan tempted Jesus while He fasted, and we must not
be surprised if we face the same. Discouragement may come, but take your stand on the
victory of Christ.

Don’ts Of Fasting
1. Avoid high-fat and sugary foods during the fast.
2. Abstain from strong stimulants such as caffeinated and sugary drinks during a fast,
including the artificial sweeteners found in diet drinks.
3. It is important after a fast to control your cravings and avoid overeating, which can
nullify the gains made during the fast.

Commit to staying the course –to fast from the beginning to the end. You are well able
to do it, and God’s grace is sufficient for you.

Consecration
1. Bless the Lord for the grace to begin this year’s 40 Days of Power; thank Him for this
sacred time of consecration.
2. Confess your sins before God and ask for His empowering grace to walk in righteousness
and resist temptation.
3. Surrender your entire being—spirit, soul, and body—to the Lord; ask Him to draw you
into wholehearted devotion.
4. Pray that your family will hunger after God during this season; pray that they will turn
to Him with sincere hearts.

Guidance
5. Ask the Lord to help you overcome every distraction that competes with your focus on
Him during this fast.
6. Pray for spiritual sensitivity to hear God’s voice clearly through His Word each day.
7. Invite the Holy Spirit to lead you step by step into God’s purpose and perfect will for
your life.
8. Pray that your example will inspire your family to walk closely with the Lord and seek
His guidance.

9. Give thanks to God for His faithful protection that surrounds you and your household
like a mighty shield.
10. Cover your life, family, church, and nation with the blood of Jesus; declare that by the
power in His blood, you, your family the church and nation is protected from every
attack of the enemy.
11. Pray against every temptation that seeks to draw you away from God’s presence.
12. Declare that as you dwell in the secret place of the Most High, no harm shall overcome
you or your loved ones.

Declaration
Today, I lift my spirit, soul, and body to the Lord and commit to pursue Him with undivided
devotion. The Holy Spirit leads me in righteousness, so I will not stray. I belong to Christ,
and in Him, I dwell securely, shielded by His grace and guided by His truth, in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Global Missions
13. Praise God that Albania remains open to the Gospel; ask Him to raise up faithful partners
to help evangelize the nation.
14. Intercede for Algeria; ask the Lord to send laborers who will plant churches and disciple
believers.
15. Pray that Angola will reap spiritual fruit from the seeds of the gospel that has been
sown in the land; ask God to raise it as a testimony of His mercy.
16. Cry out for revival in Antigua and Barbuda, that the hearts of believers there will be
stirred to seek the Lord with passion.

Work and Career

17. Thank God that His presence goes with you into your workplace; thank Him that you are
equipped with divine insight and favor.
18. Ask the Lord to make your work a platform for spiritual growth and a testimony of His
goodness.
19. Pray that your integrity and faith at work will lead others to hunger for God.
20. Ask for God’s blessing over your professional life, that your efforts will prosper as you
honour Him with diligence.

21. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill your heart and mind with fresh desire to know Jesus; pray that

23. Pray for grace and discipline to seek Christ daily and resist complacency and spiritual
lukewarmness.
24. Present your unsaved family members to the Lord; pray that the light of Christ will shine
in their hearts and draw them to the Lord.

Declaration
As Christ is lifted high among the nations, His healing and salvation will reach every land.
In my work life, the hand of the Lord brings favor and draws me closer to Him. His truth
lights my path, and His presence sets my heart on fire for His work, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

3. Intercede for your family members—that the Holy Spirit will convict their hearts and
turn them to a life of holiness.
4. Pray that the church of Christ will be purified and awakened to eagerly anticipate His
glorious return.

Guidance
5. Ask the Holy Spirit to sharpen the ears of your heart so you can recognize His voice
above all others.
6. Pray for strength and grace to honor God with your body and live as a vessel set apart
for Him.
7. Intercede for the Church to boldly proclaim a call to repentance and a return to godly
living across the nations.
8. Ask the Lord to draw unbelievers into His family and guide them on the path of
righteousness during this season of prayer.

12. Pray against every unholy practice in the Church that seeks to tarnish its witness and
dishonor the name of Christ.

Declaration
Lord Jesus, thank You for calling me out of darkness into Your marvelous light. I lay aside
every garment of sin and walk in Your righteousness. As a child of God, I stand secure and
covered under the banner of Christ and walk boldly in holiness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Global Missions
13. Pray that the hearts of believers in Argentina will burn with a desire to spread the Good
News.
14. Call on the Lord to release His peace upon Armenia and bring healing to its land and
people.
15. Pray that the Gospel will flourish among all communities in Aruba, including immigrant
groups, bringing transformation and unity across the island.
16. Cry out for a mighty move of the Spirit in Australia, reviving the Church and restoring
their first love for Jesus.
17. Ask the Lord to raise up fearless believers in Austria who will pursue holiness and
proclaim Christ boldly.

Work and Career

18. Give thanks to God for enabling you to reflect His holiness and glory in your profession.
19. Speak life over your career, declaring that you will advance in your career pursuits
under God’s divine favor.
20. Affirm that you walk above worldly limitations because the Lord is your Helper and
Strength.
21. Ask God to open doors and grant favor to fellow believers who are living uprightly and
serving Him faithfully.

14. Pray for increased resources, favor, and fruitfulness in missions in the Bahamas; declare
a great harvest of souls.
15. Ask the Lord to strengthen the underground church in Bahrain and to reveal Christ
through love, testimony, and transformed lives.
16. Ask for boldness and divine strength for believers in Bangladesh as they witness in the
face of pressure and opposition.
17. Rebuke every resistance that hinders soul-winning in Barbados and declare open
heavens over the nation.

Work and Career

18. Ask the Lord to make you a visible expression of Christ’s love, truth, and excellence in
your workplace.
19. Pray for the release of every resource needed to thrive in your career.
20. Claim God’s promise to restore lost time, missed opportunities, and unfulfilled potential
in your professional journey.
21. Ask for divine insight to make decisions that protect the fruit of your labor and position
you for advancement.

1. Praise the Lord for the gift of the Holy Spirit; thank Him that He empowers you to walk
in victory over sin.
2. Declare your freedom in Christ from every sinful habit that has held you bound.
3. Ask the Lord to create in you a deep desire to live by the Spirit and a genuine longing
for holiness.
4. Pray that your spirit will stay sensitive and submissive to the promptings of the Holy
Spirit daily.

Guidance
5. Pray for clarity and sensitivity to follow the leadings of the Holy Spirit in all areas of
your life.
6. Ask the Lord to renew your mind and help you to align your desires with His will and
Word.
7. Intercede for your household—that each member will seek and walk in God’s perfect
will.
8. Pray for divine wisdom to resist pressures that push you into decisions outside of God’s
purpose.

12. Ask the Lord to preserve you from environments, conversations, and people that weaken
your faith.

Declaration
Thank You Lord, for Your word that instructs and corrects. I declare that I am committed
to obeying Your voice. You are my Shepherd; I will follow You into paths of peace and
righteousness. As I yield to Your leading, my soul will find rest in You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Global Missions
13. Pray for a spiritual awakening in Belarus amid political and social unrest, and ask God
to strengthen the small but faithful body of believers.
14. Break the power of deception that blinds hearts in Belgium; pray for the light of the
Gospel to shine brightly.
15. Pray for divine protection, strength, and fruitfulness for missionaries labouring in
Belize.
16. Uproot ungodly cultural practices in Benin that oppose the Gospel and keep people in
spiritual bondage.
17. Intercede for believers in Bhutan; ask God to strengthen them to stand firm under
oppressive spiritual influences.

Work and Career

18. Place your career journey before the Lord; ask for alignment with His timing, plans, and
promotions.
19. Pray for integrity and boldness to make godly choices in the workplace even when it is
unpopular.
20. Commit your business plans and innovations to God; ask Him to breathe life and success
upon them.
21. Ask God to raise Christian entrepreneurs and professionals whose excellence will glorify
Christ and influence others.
