Course Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
CO1: Apply knowledge of mathematics and Engineering fundamentals to Identify and
characterize different classes of signals and systems
CO2: Identify, formulate the methodology to compute the response and analyze the properties
of an LTI system
C03: ldentify Fourier Representations and analyze the signals in time and frequency domain.
C04 Apply Fourier representations to compute the characteristics of LTI systems in both time
and frequency domain.
CO5: Apply ZT for broader characterization of discrete time signals and LTI systems.

Delivery PPT and explanation, flipped classroom, simulations using octave/scilab
Methods
Assessment CIE, SEE, Assignment on simulations using octave/scilab
Tools
1. Classify the following signals as periodic and non periodic. Find the
period for periodic signals
a) x(t) = (cos(2mt))* (b) x{n] = cos2n
Sample
Questions 2. Determine whether the following systems are memoryless, stable,
causal, linear and time invariant or not
(a) y(t) = cos(x(t)) (6) y[n] = 2xln]u[n]
