USE OF ALLIED QUALITY ASSURANCE PUBLICATIONS (AQAP)
▪ Quality assurance requirements for companies delivering defence material
– Quality Management Systems based on AQAP publications requirements, 3rd
party certification is not always required
▪ To have confidence in advance that the purchase of defence material meets
the requirements and the product performance is as required and agreed
▪ NATO-compatible approaches to defense material procurement
▪ GQA (Government Quality Assurance) activities are carried out by GQAR
(Government Quality Assurance Representative, nominated for the project)
▪ Life cycle model for the entire life cycle of defense material
▪ Recognize players and their roles and requirement for operations

PLAYERS/ROLES
▪ Acquirer (Customer)
– Governmental and/or NATO Organisations, that enter into a contractual
relationship with a Supplier, defining the product and quality requirements.
▪ Supplier
– Organisation that acts in a contract as the provider of products to the Acquirer.
▪ GQAR (Government Quality Assurance Representatitive)
– The Personnel with responsibility for Government Quality Assurance (GQA),
acting on behalf of the Acquirer (delegated), conduct particular activities (based
on risks identified before by the acquirer)
