The Cold War And The Soviet War
As we all think of word war we immediately think of death s, violence, disagreement with one
another. Many country has been on war with one another but they have got anything out of it, except
millions of people deaths. Whenever war start it s always happened because of two nations
disagreement with one another. In 1948 BerlinBlockade, The USSR attempt to break the connection
between the Western and Eastern parts of Berlin, in the result of this early days of Cold warstarted.
As long as I know the history there is only one person who said violence, weapons is not way for
solution of any problems which we get. The USSR was a powerful country and they can stay on
their own, and on other side US can t. There was some other allied joined to build monetary for
Western Berlin and Western Germany. Some actions can be louder than other and how that can
impacts the decisions which will be plan for future.
The Cold War The Cold War just started faw years latter after World War II. During the World War
II, the Soviet Union and the United States were allies as a one team. The American, were always
concerned about the Russian leader Jospeh Stalin s tyrannical Blood thirst rule of own country. But,
the Soviet Union resented the Americans decades long refusal to treat the Soviet Union as a
legitimates part of the International community. As they came to World War late which caused
millions of death Russia people s lives. After the war finished, these grievances matured into a
The Economic Situation Of Latin America
Latin America is filled with environmental, agricultural and culturally rich countries but
unfortunately it is also the place where the majority of the countries have high levels of poverty and
social inequalities. Latin America is the place where we find many natural wonders like the Amazon
rainforest, the Andes, the Iguazu Falls and many other natural resources. However, the economic
situation is one of the poorest in the world. According to the article, The Politics of Economic
adjustment policy in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico: Experiences in the 1980 s and challenges for
the future, and in, Latin American countries underwent the worst economic recession during the
1980 s. The distribution of incomes after the 1940 s was a radical change because there was a
huge gap between poverty level and the elite members of society. After that point in history it has
continued the same way up until contemporary times. The considerable difference in the income
inequality and the high poverty rates is what interested me and in particularly during the 70 s and
80 s, which is known as la decada perdida or the lost decade. The lost decade was a time of
economic austerity in many countries in Latin America and this is why I became interested in this
topic. As a result, I interviewed my grandfather, Jose Gomez, who lived in Mexico during those
harsh times of crisis that were affecting many Latin American countries during the 1970 s and 1980 s.

The Kongolese And Christianity In Kongo
For centuries, Africans and their belief systems have been derided. Instead of being studied as valid
and meaningful responses to the universal terms of human existence, African religions have often
been considered exotic objects... peculiar and incomprehensible or repellent. For many Europeans,
Christianitywas by far the superior religion, and they strove to convert Africans. One kingdom where
they seemed to enjoy success was Kongo. By 1704, the people living there had been Catholic for six
generations nearly two centuries. The Kongolese took great pride in this, believing that it made them
superior to their neighbours. Moreover, both the Kongolese and the Church took pride in the fact
that Christianity had come to Kongo not through conquest and forced conversion, but through the
voluntary conversion of João I. Despite this achievement, though, the Church more the Kongolese
had to practice Catholicism exactly as the Europeans did. With the coming of Dona Beatriz Kimpa
Vita, who claimed to be possessed by Saint Anthony, this conflict would become more apparent than
ever before. Though the Capuchins succeeded in having Dona Beatriz burnt at the stake, they failed
in their ultimate goal of fully converting the Kongolese to their form of Catholicism.
The knowledge of Catholicism displayed by the Kongolese was impressive. Though many Europeans
wondered about their penchant for such things as sacred stones and ancestors graves... they never
doubted that the
My Application To College
The gravity of my decision to become the first person in my family to apply to college was not
lost on me. One prominent fact, I faced was my lack of preparation for college level work. My
education prepared me for tradesmen level work, not higher education. The basic skills of effective
study habits, note taking abilities, and test taking strategies were not developed by the time I
completed high school. Yet, I held a deep belief that I could do anything if given the opportunity.
That was one skill set that my parents helped foster within me as a young person. Consequently, I
was prepared to face and solve the forthcoming challenges. During my time at Purdue University, I
developed a learning system to aid me to be successful. This system has continually adapted and
strengthened throughout my career.

The premise that everyone has the capacity to learn is valid once we employ a couple of conditions.
First, we must accept that each of us has an individual anatomy and complex ability for gaining,
processing, and storing the multitude of variables that contribute to our personalized method for
learning. Second, each person either consciously or subconsciously adapts to inconsistent teaching or
learning environments that do not meet their personal needs. A percentage of those who can adapt

A former mentor of mine shared an essential activity for personal success that has proven
invaluable. This experience was a guided process of self assessment to ascertain who I was as an
individual, learner, and a leader. This process was enlightening both mentally and spiritually. The
lessons learned have refined and improved as I transitioned between student, team member, leader,
instructor, and administrator. Understanding my personal learning style and how I process
information are crucial to my
Tsunami Essay
Tsunamis become disasters because of the human context in which they occur. Do you agree or
disagree with this statement? Use examples of known tsunami events recently and in the past to
illustrate your arguments.

According to Wisner et al 2004, disasters occur when hazards meet vulnerability, implying that in
unpopulated areas hazards can not become disasters as there is no vulnerability (Quarantelli E.L.
1998). Without humans being involved, tsunamis are nothing but giant waves; they may modify
areas of uninhabited land and destroy some reefs but that does not make them disasters. Tsunamis
become disasters when humans are involved; when their lives are at risk, their homes are destroyed,
their livelihoods are lost etc. In addition, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The landscape was altered unrecognisably, with large areas of coastlines washed away and some
landmarks shifted to new locations. Debris and waste were widely scattered and farmland and
underground water supplies flooded (Global Education, 2009). According to Grossman (2012), the
large amount of the estimated 25 million tons of debris caused by both the Tohoku earthquake and
tsunami washed away into the sea could hit the Hawaiian Islands and have catastrophic
consequences, such as damage to the reefs and beaches that are homes of many indigenous species.
The Tohoku tsunami resulted in the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident with three reactors
melting down: the largest nuclear accident since the 1986 Chernobyl disaster (Kyutoku et al., 2012).
Officials from the Japanese Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency reported that radiation levels
inside and outside the plant were up to 1,000 times and 8 times normal levels respectively
(Tabuchi and Walk, 2011). The reactors of the nuclear plant sustained major damage to the cooling
system meaning that radioactive isotopes were released into the air, ultimately leading to
contamination of soil, water and food. Radioactive chemicals were found in tap water in many
cities, as well as in the soil and food products (Hur, 2011). Damage and destruction of water
treatment and sewage systems increase the likelihood of outbreaks of cholera and typhoid, although
outbreaks are less likely to
Safety Button
I.
Introduction: The United States had an estimate of 741,291 aggravated assaults in 2014. About
31% of crime have gone unreported to the police department which raises concern on how many
criminals go uncaptured. Many are aware of hooligans wondering about, and it causes citizens to be
paranoid and too cautious in locations they travel to. There are about 3.3 million adults that have
suffered from anxiety or paranoia; many adults that suffer anxiety end up being unable to come out
to roam cities or towns. The Safety Button was created to allow others to feel safer with a faster way
to communicate with the police. The button is meant to allow a safer environment with the usage of
the police, and to diminish numbers of anxiety attacks for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Hypothesis: If some form of button was created that was capable to send location, time, and audio to
the police with other health beneficial essentials, then it will allow a more efficient form of safety.
Bibliography: The button was first set to call a phone number upon pressing the button itself. Upon
further realization, having the button instantly call served no beneficial purpose than contacting
one person. So a timer was added that had a countdown from five to zero, then when the timer
reaches zero the call is made and the countdown stops. An idea was thought, in case of an
emergency the countdown would be more suitable on a long click rather than a normal click. By
doing this the user will have the ability to cancel out the call/timer. In response to the previous
addition, a function was added to click the button once more to stop and reset the timer. Once this
function was made, an error was spotted in occurrence that the button would continue counting
down towards the negative numbers. To fix the error, instead of having a press up action, it was
changed to a long press action. This allowed two separate forms of pressing mechanisms to get

The Strengths and Weaknesses of Dualism
Dualism is the belief that reality consists of two different, separate substances: that of the mental and
that of the physical. In philosophy of mind, the belief that the mental and physical are deeply
different in kind: thus the mental is at least not identical with the physical. It directly opposes
materialism, as dualism dictates that the mind is unidentifiable to the body, as opposed to stating
that the mind and body exist as one. The concept of dualism is not only fundamental in philosophy,
but also affects our thoughts on science, religion and psychology: for example, if a convincing
rejection of dualism can be formulated, the materialist approach of modern science will be
vindicated. If, conversely, dualism can be convincingly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aquinas agreed with the Artistotlean notion that when the soul entered the body it animated it
and gave it life; calling it anima. Moreover according to Aquinas, the soul operates independently
of the body and it cannot decay; for only things that can break into parts can decay, Thus,
following Aquinas argument, the soul is able to survive death. He also said that through the link
with a particular human body, each soul becomes individual. So, even when a body dies, the soul
that departs retains the individual identity of the body to which it was attached. Despite this
earlier work, there was still no explanation of how the soul and body worked together, if at all.
This was until Descartes (1596 1650) who provided the fundamental writings on dualism with his
work Meditiations on First Philosophy. Indeed, he is considered the father of modern philosophy
and his Meditations lead to the school of dualistic ontology known as Cartesian Interactionist
Dualism, which still inspires much thought and extension by modern philosophers today. Descartes
defined the mind as all the feelings and sensations that he could describe, but which he could not
locate physically . He then furthered this by saying that the mind is everything that is non
physical. Then without doubt I exist also if he deceives me, and let him deceive me as much as he
will, he can never cause me to be nothing so long as I think I am something... it might possibly be
the case if I ceased
