valuable information if you do not. Do not rely on any forwarding function; if too many people
forward their UIC email to another provider, the other provider considers it spam and blocks all

so, and check your UIC email account a minimum of 3 4 times per week.
E. Printing/Assignments:
Much of this course requires your submitting papers you have written (hard copies of assignments,
reports, PowerPoint slides) and copies of research you have done for each presentation (e.g., copies
of pages from reference materials such as journals, books or magazines). Plan appropriately for this:
not having sufficient funding in your student account for copying purposes is not an acceptable
excuse for not submitting required assignments.

The Movie Billy Wilkerson
The drive to be included leads men to and the subsequent affect of not being included has a lasting
ripple effect, that spans through time. The affects can be felt. The allure of hollywood attracts all
sorts of people that are desperate to be included. Not just actors, not just studio heads, agents or
writers, sometimes hollywood attracts gangsters, and politicians.
People will go to great lengths to be close to the stars of Hollywood. It drives some people insane.
That drive for fame and power leaves a lasting impression on the landscape and on lives for decades.
William Billy Wilkerson is one such person. His desire to be somebody was so great that his efforts
shaped the physical landscape, the social landscape, and the political landscape far beyond his
lifetime. Yet his ambitions and accomplishments added up to failures and bitterness, that left his
quest for inclusion into the inner circle of the Hollywood elite, little more than a footnote in the
history books. Billy is all but forgotten.
Billy, was born in Nashville Tennessee in 1890. As a young adult he studied the priest hood, and
then medicine at college in Philadelphia. Before he could finish his formal education his father
died. Leaving his family in debt. Billy left college and to support his family began to manage speak
easies in New York City. He also spent sometime working at a newspaper and running a movie
theater. When Billy moved his family to Hollywood in 1930 he would make good use of his short

Engineering Disasters/Utilitarianism Paper One of the most controversial topics in the field of
renewable energy is nuclear energy. In nineteen eighty six, the Chernobyl power plant in modern
day Ukraine (formerly the USSR) had a major, level seven meltdown. A level seven nuclear disaster
is the highest disaster possible in regards to nuclear event. This meltdown caused billions of tons of
radioactive material to fly into the air that spread all across Europe (Xiang, Zhu). The most recent
major nuclear accident happened in two thousand eleven, in Fukushima, Japan. The nuclear disaster
in Fukushima occurred at fourteen forty six, Japanese time. The disaster occurred because a major
magnitude nine earthquake struck North Eastern Japan and a fifteen meter high tsunami also struck
the power plant (Grimston). There were eleven overall reactors that were effected by the earthquake
and tsunami. Nine of the reactors cooling systems continued to work after the natural disasters
occurred, but reactors one, two and three of the Fukushima Daiichi plant were terribly damaged and
could not cool down the fission process. This is what lead to the one, two and three reactors to melt,
causing the most detrimental damage to the global community (Grimston). Critics of the disasters
say that Daiichi was not up to global nuclear safety standards because the wall the protected the plant
was only stable against six meter tall tsunami waves, not the massive
The Effects Of A Body Image Exposure Session On Smoking
Not a day goes by without us hearing about the dangers of smoking and the numerous effects that
cigarettes can have on the human body. We have all see the thousands of television commercials
urging people to quit smoking, including the infamous Marlboro Man, who died from cancer due to
the cigarettes he once promoted for many years. Smokingis often used as a weight control strategy
among female smokers. The pressures that women sometimes feel to look a certain way can be
overwhelming and make women desperate to fit into society s idea of what women should look
like. There are many different so called benefits that come from smoking such as reduced anxiety,
improved mood, and weight control. On the flip side, these benefits can easily be achieved through
physical activity and proper stress management. In this paper, I will discuss the article, Differential
Effects of a Body Image Exposure Session on Smoking Urge Between Physically Active and
Sedentary Female Smokers, and the different variables of this study, such as sample sizes,
population, and treatments. I will also discuss the inferential statisticsused in the article and if the
proper steps of hypothesis testing were followed. What the researchers were trying to actually
determine, what specific concepts were applied in testing the hypothesis, what exactly the
assumptions and limitations are of the study, and how the authors applied the statistical testing.
Finally, I will discuss what the findings were
An Analysis Of Dionysus By Euripides Unconscious Desire
Unconscious Desire and Fear: Is an Innate Force of Nature. Euripides uses metamorphism in a way
that may have been, somewhat, disparaging to Greek, particularly male, audiences. Although, the
play portrays so many of Dionysus godly attributes such as long flowing locks, extreme
attractiveness, and the power to drive one mad, Euripides makes no mistake to characterize the
human qualities of Dionysusbeing deliberate, plotting, angry, and vengeful. While all Greek gods
seem to have the aforementioned duality, Dionysus dualism appears to have a twofold motive;
that is to avenge his mother s reputation as well as reclaim his position as a God. As Dionysus
does so, he can be read as an aphorism to embrace the human desire for divine experiences, which
normally manifest as an unconscious desire and fear within a human which is an innate force of
nature. As the play opens, Dionysus reasoning for retuning to Thebes, is exemplified by the fact that
he is there to avenge his mother s reputation because his mother s sisters... gossiped that this
Dionysus was no child of Zeus (32 34). The chorus then goes on to tell the back story of Dionysus
and how quicker than death / Zeus swept him up, after his mother s unfortunate... Show more content

The banter goes on shortly displaying both Pantheus cynicism and intrigue in Dionysian ritual and
the benefits of such. As Pentheus continues to embark on the punishments he plans to perform on
Dionysus, he also attempts to provoke the god to materialize before him in which Dionysus replies,
Where I am. Your lack of faith has blurred your vision (601). Dionysus continues to explain that by
doing harm to him he also blasphemes the god. Pantheus, enraged, orders him locked in the stables.
Ironically, Pantheus does not fulfil, at this point, any of the threats he has made to the stranger and
what follows is a boastful regale between the chorus, divine beings, and
Social Interactions And Its Effects On The Basketball Court
Felecia and Joseph both have numerous social interactions, not just as individuals, but as a couple as
a tool. Joseph is often seen socializing amongst his friends on the basketball courts. The
conversations touch on everything from basketball, to school, and relationships. During his
interactions with his friends on the basketballcourt, he can at times be competitive, but that s just
the nature of the game. If he ever loses there are moments when he ll just storm off the court not
shaking hands. His attitude can be taken to another level if he loses and performs poorly,
whenever this occurs he doesn t only storm off, but he also refuses to talk to anyone if he does
the conversations tend to turn out aggressive with a lot of trash talk. When things are going his
way Josephs demeanor is calm, he engages well with his friends, and he always brings humor to
the conversations, he tends to take himself less seriously when his girlfriend is not around, and
when he isn t losing games. Joseph is also a student giving him the chance to interact with his
classmates/teachers. There are moments when he doesn t have much to say unless he is talking
with his friends, he is polite and very respectful towards the teacher. Surprisingly, he always
appeared to be more timid when he was in class compared to when he was on the basketball courts.
Felecia has social interactions like Joseph, but with different people in different environments.
During her spare time she enjoys hiking, clubs,
