Holistic Assessment Of Nursing Assessment
Nursing process is a systematic process that involves a continuous cycle of five interrelated phases:
holistic assessment of a client, nursing diagnoses, nursing care planning, implementation, and
evaluation (Wilkinson et al. 2015). It enables nurses to assess the person s health status and health
care needs, to create plans to meet the identified needs, and to provide and evaluate individualised
nursing interventions according to the person s needs (Luxford 2015). The holistic assessment is
the first step of the nursing process that includes the collection of subjective and objective data
related to the physical, psychological, social, developmental, cultural, and spiritual status of a client
(Wilkinson et al. 2015). This comprehensive approach to nursing assessment is essential because it
allows nurses to comprehend not only clients health status, but also their routines and needs in order
to incorporate their life styles into the care interventions (Luxford 2015). It ultimately enables
nurses to provide appropriate quality person centred care rather than nurse initiated care (Luxford
2015). Responsibility for holistic nursing assessment is supported by the Registered nurse standards
for practice (2016), Standard 4.1: The registered nurse conducts assessments that are holistic as well
as culturally appropriate (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia [NMBA] 2016, p. 4). This
essay will discuss the elements and the importance of holistic assessment in nursing. One of
Death Valley Essay
Death Valley is a native American reservation located in Utah and approximately a 30 minute drive
from the Army s Dugway Proving Ground, a military installation less than 100 miles from Salt Lake
City, Utah. On the early morning of March 15, 1968, thousands of sheep within the town started
showing signs and symptoms of an odd, peculiar disease; they were unable to come to their feet and
without the ability to keep their necks straight, soon after, they were lying dead in the farms across
the town. This incident, which became known as The Dugway Proving Ground Accident, generated
national attention, in an era marred by public political unrest and an American public highly
suspicious of their government. The majority of Death Valley depended... Show more content on

There has been a lot of speculation, but significant efforts by Utah State University and the
Department of Agriculture scientists have not been able to name an exact causal chain association
between the testing conducted on March 13 1968 and the deaths of the sheep. Filled with
emblematic value in the state of Utah, the Dugway sheep incident is constantly raised up at public
hearings as one of the main reasons the people of Utah have not trust in the Government and more

Assignment 2 Met Essay
1. Is a temperature inversion more likely to form on a calm or a windy night? Why?
A temperature inversion is most likely to form on a calm night. Windy nights are not ideal for an
inversion to occur since an inversion is considered a stable layer of atmosphere as well as due to the
wind mixing the air to even out the density, remembering cold air is denser than warm air so it will
flow downhill and pool in a valley.
2. What are the various methods used to protect sensitive crops from damaging low temperatures?
Explain why each method works.
Various methods to help protect sensitive crops include:
a. Orchard heaters smudge pots help warm air around the trees by setting up convection currents
close to the ground.

Eastland Disaster Case Study
Chicago is a world famous city, well known for its architecture, culture, and attractions. For all that
it was thriving in the early 1900s, there were a few setbacks and unfortunate incidences, one of
those being the Eastland Disaster of 1915. Unfortunately, this has never gotten the remembrance it
deserves because this ship consisted of the working class, whereas a ship such as the Titanic
consisted of all three classes, and those who were remembered belonged to the first class.

The Eastland was a ship built in 1903. Its daily schedule was commuting for the Michigan Steamship
Company, travelling 77 miles between Chicago and South Haven, Michigan. The basic service was
a round trip on which the company s largest vessel left Chicago mid morning ... Show more content

As the passengers were loading onto the ship, it began swaying from side to side. They were all
oblivious to the imminent danger until things went wrong all at once. Dishes slipped off shelves,
a piano slid across the floor, and a refrigerator fell over with a resounding crash that was heard
throughout the ship. The passengers then realized that they were in danger, and they attempted
to escape while in a state of panic. Those that had gathered on the port side of the Eastland were
the ones that were pretty much doomed to death. When the ship rolled into the river it rolled to
the port side. All those people within seconds found themselves in the bottom of the ship being
buried by hundreds of other people (Eastland). While they did get help rather quickly, many of the
passengers were already overboard and struggling to keep themselves above water. Many people
either drowned immediately, or they suffocated in the middle of a myriad of bodies in the water.
The ship was only a few feet from the wharf, where a large crowd of horrified spectators watched,
and it was in only 20 feet of water. That, however, was deep enough to drown 844 people who were
trapped or trampled below decks
Compare And Contrast Harry Potter And Odysseus
Homer wrote The Odyssey centuries ago at the 8th Century BCE, yet many themes found are like
modern literature. An example of literature of today s time is J.K. Rowling s Harry Potter and the
Deathly Hallows. Harry Potter goes through difficult tasks to defeat the Dark Lord, Voldemort.
Odysseus is sailing from the battle of Troy back to his home, Ithaca. Poseidon, the God of the sea,
curses Odysseusfor being too arrogant to teach a lesson about being humble. In both books, Harry
Potterand Odysseus go through a series of events for the greater good of society. Harry Potter and
Odysseus face similar journeys when going to the magical world, facing trials, and their return to the
normal world.

Harry Potter and Odysseus both travel through a special threshold to enter the unknown world.
Harry meets up with a group of certified wizards and friends to escape from the mundane world
and re enter the magical world (45 62). Harry almost didn t make it out alive because the Dark
Lord s team of wizards injures Harry. In the Hero s Journey, the crossing of the threshold is how
Harry almost dies to make it into the magical world. In Odysseus case, similar themes pop up. On
page 1045, Odysseus had plundered the stronghold on the proud height of Troy. He travels with his
shipmates back to Ithaca, but an unknown force transports them to the magical world. When
traveling and entering the magical world that was almost stopped by another force. Even then, when
they enter the magical
Analysis Of Girl By Jamaica Kincaid
Society has created in their minds the way a woman is supposed to act and the things they are
allowed to do. In Jamaica Kincaid s Girl , we see a young woman being forced to live by the
likeness of the society in which she dwells. Although this is not the life she wants to live, she has no
other choice than to become the womanshe was made to be.
Throughout time the relationship between mothers and daughters have changed. Many mothers hold
on to the old fashioned opinion of what a woman should be and many older women feel that a
women s true role in life is to be domesticated. This idea of a woman s place in the home is being
reinforced throughout Kincaid s short story. The mother in the story is telling her young
daughter the ways things should be done. Wash the white clothes on Monday and put them on
the stone heap; wash the colored clothes on Tuesday and put them on the clothesline to dry. She
further goes on to describe other household chores and how they should be correctly done. This is
how you sweep a corner. She tells her daughter how to set a table for different meals, how to cook
things, and even how to pick out bread. Unfortunately, though, the story doesn t tell a woman
how to have a successful career, to go to college, or how to work outside of the home. In those
days women were expected to stay at home while their husband s go out to work and make all the
money. Even if they tried, they were not allowed to go outside the way society made them to be
and this mother is trying to raise her young daughter the same way she was raised which is to be a
house wife.
Even though the girl says nothing in the story, she is building resentment towards her mother
because she feels that she should be allowed to make her own decision on whether to be
domesticated. Throughout the story never did the mother once stop to get her daughter s input on
the issues, she just simply tells her daughter that she has no other choice but to be domesticated
and there is no way of changing it. She tells the daughter how to act, how to dress, how to talk, and
even how to walk. Always eat your food in a way that it won t turn someone else s stomach...On
Sundays try to walk like a lady and not like the slut that you are
Tragic Poetic In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe
Aristotle was a famous disciple of Plato who first defines fine arts and he differs with his teacher
Plato in his book of Poetic. His Poetic deals with the principles of Poetic art in general and tragedy in

the concept of Probability which simply explains the probability that a given character will react to
a given situation is very high because of human nature. For instance in the book, Things fall Apart
deals with the tragic human consequences of the collusion of the Africa and Europe culture in
Nigeria. Protagonist of the novel, Oknokwo has tragic characters and he was considered as a

In his poetic, a tragic hero cannot be an eminently good man. The suffering of such a man will be
shocking. The tragic hero neither can be a bad man nor a villain. The tragic hero is a man who is
not eminently good and just, yet whose misfortune is bought about not by voice, but by the some
error of judgement. The misfortune of such a man will lead to downfall. In Things fall Apart, the
main protagonist Okonkwo is considered as tragic hero and he has the all the noble characters.

What Was The Primary Cause Of The First Crusades
he subject of the crusades is still a very controversial topic that spans across various time periods
and has religious, social, and political implications. The first crusade started off as a widespread
pilgrimage that ended as a military expedition resulting in the recapture of Jerusalem in 1099. The
crusadesinitiated from a call from help from Alexius for the protection of Constantinople and the
recovery of Anatolia. For centuries textbooks have repeated with routine regularity, that the
immediate cause, of the Crusades was the Turkish conquest of the Near East, which apparently was a
very real threat to Christendom, that had to be countered by military action. With this in mind, the
primary purpose of this essay is to identify the various reasons that contributed to the start of the first
crusade, while disproving the fact that the first Crusade was a response to a military threat. In
discovering the true cause of the first crusades it is necessary to examine it from all aspects from the
start to the finish.
It all started with Alexius Comnenus the Byzantine emperor, sending letters and an embassy to the
West requesting military aid to combat the Turkish threat in Asia Minor. Alexius had inherited a
weakened empire in 1081 Byzantium was under siege from all sides, primarily by the Seljuk Turks.
Alexius tried everything including making peaceful negotiations with the Turks that involved giving
up pieces of land in exchange for peace. However, despite his attempts the
