Transformational Leadership Aspects Of Military Basic...
To fully understand the transformational leadership aspects of military basic training, one must
have a picture of what basic training is like. Most recruits are young, and are leaving home for the
first time. In the Air Force the first week of the six and a half week course is controlled chaos for
the fifty five recruits who are placed into a flight, which was a part of a larger squadron. We woke
up 4:30 am every day, saluted the flag, did physical training, showered, ate, attended classes, and
learned the ways of the Air Force. Every day was highly scheduled and full of nonstop learning. We
marched everywhere and had no free time. This was pretty much the schedule until week five,
which is known as warrior week, when recruits packed up their belongings and headed out to tent
city, where we learn to fight, survive, and teamwork. After warrior week finished we returned to our
normal dormitory and prepared for graduation.
Military basic training is not only for the development of recruits, but also transforming the recruits
into the Air Force s ideal followers. Transformational leadership in its optimal form, creates
valuable and positive change with the end goal of developing followers into leaders
(Transformational Leadership, 2016). When I went through basic training in 2006, it was a six and
a half week course which tested every part of me. Every day of basic training was mentally,
physically, and emotionally intensive. While the beginning of basic training was about
The Consequences Of High School Dress Code In Public Schools
Approximately 64% of the United States public education system requires a strict dress code. How
does the dress code affect the students and how does it benefit them? Do the students have a say in
this dress code policy? Do they have a fair vote on how dress code violations should be addressed?
There are so many questions on how the students defend their rights in the public school system, yet
they cannot have the opportunity to have their opinions heard. Dress codeamongst the years have
changed amongst the years and not for the better. High Schooldress code is demoralizing towards
females and the consequences are exorbitant.
Dress code has been administrated all across the world and thousands upon thousands of students
have complained about their school dress code. Some dress codes have not put into the
consideration of weather and current fashion trends. There are some schools that have extreme heat
that almost forces the students to disobey the school s dress code policies. At Baldwin High School
there are very limited air conditioned buildings which create heat in the learning environment.
Despite that the heat is too extreme for students that they have to wear shorter length clothing and
breathable attire to condemn the fact there is no way to cool down besides clothes that don t adhere
to the dress code. Students are usually taught to practice their right to freedom of expression, the
first Amendment. Dress code prohibits that ability and discourages students. Most students interact
with the daily fashion trends in the world and want to choose to follow those trends. To some
students dressing up in their clothes is their only way to express their selves. Creating this
suppression against their artistic ability discourages these students from feeling comfortable in their
own school, is it not that school is supposed to be where students feel safe and comfortable at?
School administration claims that the dress code is imposed to create a less distracted environment
and to prepare students for their future careers. The attire student wear are not the only distractions
in the classroom, students are distracted by their cellular devices and life issues. Yet, cell phones
cause a greater distraction in the
English Expansion in Ireland
Introduction For my research task I had picked Irish English (also known as Hiberno English). As
English was first introduced to Ireland by the time of the Norman invasion. By the Tudor period,
the Irish culture and language re claimed its use in the territories it lost. However, the renewal of
English expansion following the Tudor conquest of Ireland revived the use of their language,
specifically during the plantations and the introduction of the Penal Laws, which banned the use
of Irish. By the 19th century, English was the language that was spoken most in the whole
country. It has reserved this position till the present day. Even though some people had their first
language as Irish also was fluent in English. Methodology Hypothesis My hypothesis is based on
the conversation of my two Irish friends about a party. This was the part of their conversation I
had took the conversation and translate it to British English. Then I had asked the assistance of
my friends to check if the translation was correct to proceed with my researches. This is their
conversation translated. Irish EnglishBritish English Howya Seán, Grand Liam, how is Máire

2. Does Porter Fail to Explain How the Factor and Demand...
2. Does Porter fail to explain how the factor and demand conditions that mould a nation s corporate
strategies, business structures, and industrial clusters are established? What other theories and
evidence might assist such an explanation?
Porter explains what factor and demand conditions are, but he fails to explain how they are
established. He defines then, and explains them in detail, but lack the most important aspect, which
is how they are established. A theory like this is not of much use without the information about the
way one can gain these advantages. Porter is always greatly praised for his great work in the
management field and he does deserve some of this praise, but if he doesn t manage to explain
himself fully ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Porter does mention that a nation with only 2 of the determinants, if in a natural resource or low
sophisticated technology or skills industry, will still have an advantage, but will not be able to
sustain it. These aspect are all key, but probably the most vital two are rivalry and cooperation within
the nation. These tie in with Porter s theory of industry clusters. The idea behind of rivalry and
cooperation within a nation is that the rivalry will help drive the firms forward and the cooperation
will also help each firm be more competitive in the global market. The firm may share ideas of
production or new technological revolutions. This information would be shared within an industry
cluster. ..the fundamental source of the domestic industry s global competitive advantage may well
be domestic cooperation that ensures the collectivization of knowledge a process that gives those
individual enterprises within the domestic industry that share knowledge and ability to engage in
continuous innovation. (Lazonick, 1991) Industry clusters are geographic concentrations of
interconnected companies, specialized suppliers, service providers, firms in related industries, and
associated institutions (for example, universities, standards agencies, and trade associations) in
particular fields that compete but also cooperate. (Porter, 1979) The importance and role of clusters,

The Treatment Of Minority Sexuality Essay
Despite all of the progress that society has made in the treatment of minority sexualities, it still often
presents stereotypes and reinforces homophobic concepts. This can lead to a plethora of issues for
the LGB community. Non heterosexual youth face more severe issues than their straight peers
concerning their health and safety. Media consumers have an obligation to demand that media
includes well developed LGB characters, normalizing same gender attraction and will lead to a more
welcoming society more quickly than if consumers allow the status quo to remain, to the detriment
of LGB people across the country.
Important Notes The term minority sexuality refers to any type of attraction that differs from
heterosexuality and includes homosexuality and bisexuality. Homosexuality refers to the attraction
of a person towards a member of the same gender; it commonly includes people who define
themselves as gay or lesbian. Bisexuality refers to the attraction of a person who can/does feel
attracted to multiple genders. There are many terms used to describe an individual s romantic
attraction or sexual attraction, however for the sake of simplicity in this paper, only the above
mentioned terms will be referenced. Another term will appear in this essay, heteronormativity. It is a
name used to describe the societal assumption that people are straight until explicitly stated
otherwise, that an individual is inherently attracted to a person of the opposite gender and they
Violence In Media
The Effects of Violence in the Media

Abstract
Many would say that violence in the media is the key problem in society today. However, an
analysis of violence in the media reveals that violence does create a more aggressive world, but that
is not the only plausible explanation. When violence is watched or participated in, the viewer s
heart rate and blood pressure increase and they have difficulty creating empathy for the others; they
are more apt to act out that anger. Others would argue that statistically violence has decreased in the
world, and that the violent behavior that is demonstrated by a few does not represent the whole of
society. It is with this reason that many say that there should be stricter ratings on video games and
movies, and parents should be better educated on ways to teach their children ways to deal with the
violent content in a healthy way.
The Effects of Violence in the Media
You are what you watch! An examination of violence in the media reveals that media violence does
create a more aggressive culture. Even though violent crime has decreased, violence in the media
had doubled or even tripled. This violent activities viewed by children and adults in video games
increase areas of the brain that control emotional arousal and decrease parts of the brain that deal
with self control and empathy. Studies show that children become more
Theme Of Alcoholism In Big Blonde
Big Blonde was first published in 1929. Dorothy Parker also wrote stories such as The Waltz and
A Telephone Call . Dorothy Parker tends to be known for the common themes, symbols, and topics
of marriage, and alcoholism. The author likes to write about things that relate to her life and things
that happened to her in her life. Big Blonde is about a girl who is desperately trying to find lovein
men since she cannot seem to find it in anything or anyone else. When she cannot even find love in
other people, she turns to alcohol to hopefully find those feelings of love in a substance. Dorothy
Parker in Big Blonde demonstrates that turning to a substance is not ideal when dealing with a loss
of feelings of love and comfort. Dorothy Parker... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One theme being the theme of alcoholism. The theme of alcoholism shows up quite a bit between a
few of the characters and throughout the duration of the story. One of the central themes in Big
Blonde is the futility of alcohol to fill an empty mind and heart (Edward). This means that alcohol
is used in this story to fill the emptiness of the mind and heart as it seems as though there is
nothing left to fill these things. Alcoholic beverages appear to be the only thing that these people
can rely on for comfort and to feel like they are worth something. They cannot really get anything
from anybody else so they turn to alcohol to fill its place. They both felt it might restore her high
spirits, and their good times together might again be possible (Parker). This means that they
needed alcohol to feel happy and to have a good time. Each other wasn t enough for either of them.
They both needed a drink for them to have a good time with one another. Neither of them could
spend time with the other without drinking or going out to drink. So, alcohol was pretty much for
them to feel happy and to fill the emptiness that was present in their minds and their hearts. Without
it, they would most likely be very lost and probably sad and depressed because there was nothing
else that could make them feel
The Pros And Cons Of Gentrification
The topic of gentrification is one that has a reputation for being quite the folktale when it comes
to determining whether or not is a good thing or a bad thing for society. Gentrification is also a
hot button topic and many people whether they are on the side that believes it to be good or bad
most of the time don t readily brooch the subject. Various people find themselves conflicted on the
matter and others are split evenly between thinking it has a positive or negative influence on
society. I argue that gentrification is not all black and white. Indeed, there are many grey areas and
so depending on what angle or lens you are observing gentrification from you could see either
negative or positive outcomes. I take the stance that while it s... Show more content on

For the purposes of my comparison, I am going to focus on two specific areas of Sydney, Ultimo,
and Pyrmont. In the article, Economic restructuring and gentrification in the inner city: a case study
of Pyrmont Ultimo, Smith and Williams (1986) argue that gentrification accentuates the divisions
between the gentrifying middle class and the traditional inhabitants. (Michael and Alan 2018). This
is a similar issue and voiced concern that is faced by residents of the gentrified areas of Chicago I
mentioned previously. The article also hints that the gentrification is a multifaceted process that
changes in turn with the ever evolving economy. One stark difference that I did pick up is that
newer residents are not fixated on the eradication of the previous cultural influence that pre exists
within the neighborhood. When cities are gentrified in Chicago they start from scratch and over a
period of time everything that once was in that particular area ceases to exist. I do wonder though if
that is in direct relation to the upset over the destruction and conversion of the Watkinson Reserve to
a construction equipment warehouse of sorts? Overall there are both negative and positive feelings
about the gentrification that has taken place in both Ultimo and Pyrmont from residents. However,
as with Chicago, the vast majority of the negative feelings and comments comes from the traditional
people of the land and from
