Karnataka to provide monetary aid for SC/ST patients with rare disease
The Karnataka Govt has decided to provide monetary aid to the SC/ST patients in the state
suffering from diseases categorised as “rare diseases” and “high-cost diseases”.
The state govt will provide monetary aid for the diseases which are not covered under the
Centre’s ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme.
The govt has allocated Rs 23.18 crore for this new scheme.

Odisha govt launches rainwater harvesting scheme named 'CHHATA'
The Odisha govt has launched a rainwater harvesting scheme named 'Community Harnessing
and Harvesting Rainwater Artificially from Terrace to Aquifer (CHHATA)'.
It has been conceptualized to address the increasing stress on groundwater and to improve the
depleting groundwater table.
Under the scheme, a target has been set to harvest 373.52 crore litres of water in five years.
Union Cabinet approves policy on long-term leasing of Railways' land
Union Cabinet on 7 September 2022 approved the policy on long-term leasing of Railways' Land
for implementing PM Gati Shakti framework.
The new policy will help provide land lease for a longer period of up to 35 years as against five
years at present.
Under the new policy, railways has also cut down land lease fee from 6 per cent to 1.5 per cent.

Tamil Nadu CM launches ‘Pudhumai Penn’ scheme for girl students
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on 5 September 2022 launched the 'Pudhumai Penn'
(modern woman) scheme in Chennai.
Under this scheme, all girl students, who studied from Classes 6 to 12 in govt schools, will get Rs
1,000 per month to pursue higher education.
The scheme aims to benefit six lakh girls every year and Rs 698 crore has been allocated in the
budget for its implementation.
Tripura sets up the India’s first Bio-Village
Tripura Govt has successfully converted its Daspara village into a bio-village.
With this, Tripura has become the 1st state in the country to set up a modified bio-village.
Daspara has been developed based on the bio-village 2.0 conceptualised by the state govt.
This concept has been designed to help mitigate the climate change effects.
State Govt plans to set up at least 100 bio-villages.

Actor Sudeep appointed as brand ambassador of 'Punyakoti Dattu Yojana'
The Karnataka govt has appointed actor Kiccha Sudeep as the brand ambassador for its
‘'Punyakoti Dattu Yojana'.
Aim of the scheme: to create awareness of cow adoption & set up goshalas across the state.
This scheme was launched in July 2022 & any individual or organization can adopt a cow by
paying a total of Rs 11,000 for one year.
It is a first-of-its-kind scheme launched in the country.
Bhartaul becomes first village in UP to have RO water in every house
As part of the Adarsh Gram Panchayat initiative, Bhartaul village in the Bareilly district of Uttar
Pradesh has become the first village in the state to have RO water in every household.
As many as four RO plants have been brought up in the village with the aim to make clean
drinking water available to all.
The move will save people from water-borne diseases.
PM Modi announces 'PM-SHRI' scheme for upgrading 14,500 schools
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day (5 September 2022), PM Modi announced a new initiative -
Pradhan Mantri Schools For Rising India (PM-SHRI) Yojana.
This will be a new centrally sponsored scheme for the upgradation and development of more
than 14500 Schools across the country.
PM SHRI Schools will showcase all components of the National Education Policy 2020 and act
as exemplar schools.
Meghalaya CM launches 'Rural Backyard Piggery Scheme'
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma launched "Rural Backyard Piggery Scheme" in
August 2022.
It was launched under National Livestock Mission at Byrnihat in Ri-Bhoi district.
Under Rural Backyard Piggery Scheme – phase 1, the government has earmarked Rs 15.18 crore
under which four high-yielding improved varieties will be distributed to 6000 families.
Rajasthan Govt launches ‘Mahila Nidhi’ - a credit scheme for women
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has launched a women-only loan scheme ‘Mahila Nidhi’.
It has been launched to ensure the availability of credit to women for starting new businesses.
The scheme will disburse loans of up to Rs 40,000 within 48 hours, and above Rs 40,000 within
15 days.
After Telangana, Rajasthan has become the second state in the country to establish the Mahila
Nidhi scheme.
Uttarakhand education dept launches e-governance portal ‘Samarth’
The Uttarakhand education department launched an e-governance portal - "Samarth" in
August 2022.

It will provide all administrative & educational updates including information about entrance
exams & appointments from 5 state universities & 140 public schools.
It has been launched to make the education system more transparent in the state.

Rajasthan govt sanctions ₹40 crore for electric vehicle policy
The Rajasthan government has come up with its electric vehicle policy to encourage the
purchase of EVs in the state.
Under the Rajasthan Electric Vehicle Policy (REVP), the government has sanctioned a fund of
₹40 crore for contribution to the purchase of electric vehicles.
The EV policy will be for a period of five years from September 1, 2022.
